Your Maine cuisine should also include macaroni and cheese loaf. Think of it as bologna with pieces of macaroni and pieces of cheese in it. My preference is 3 or 4 slices on white bread with some mayonnaise. The appropriate side dish would be Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips. And if you are brave, wash it down with a Moxie.

Love this vid! My buds and i have been doing the same thing twice a season for the last 15 years straight. Fishing for trout from dawn to dusk in the freezing mountain weather, tossin a few back and eating food at the cabin and just enjoying good company. Cherished moments! Love it!

Jon, it’s really important to never handle brookies by the mouth area. When you were unhooking that first fish holding open the mouth by the lower jaw can cause injuries. You definitely did good keeping it in the water and you’re not nearly as bad as people outright lip trout, but still don’t hold the mouth open like that. Other than that amazing video I love the content, and congratulations on the baby too!

Jon, it's actually a common misconception that the males lose their kype after spawn. Some can regress, however the tissue usually fuses with their skeletal structure. This makes it permanent and in fact will most likely get more progressive the older they get. I'm not saying kype isn't associated with spawn. It is, significantly because it acts as a weapon, but they don't necessarily lose it after the spawn.

Good job on the first catch but you should learn more about trout always wet hands and try to get them back in the water as soon as possible instead of handling them too much and grabbing them by the gill is bad for them they are not as tough as bass
