That water is absolutely beautiful !!! Glad y'all were able to get out there and enjoy it. I think the Specks are able to see and catch their prey quicker and easier up shallow in the clearer water, then they head out to deeper water earlier where they'er safer to rest until their evening feed. Did you find your topwater lure on the beach after you were done fishing ?

Good spot to surf fish.

seems like surf trout are usually nocturnal feeders?

I stopped using a stringer when a shark ate a couple of my trout off the stringer.

really enjoyed your surf fishing episode. all your shows I have enjoyed very much. I wanted to know what brand of braid you use on your reels because im thinking of switching from mono. Thanks and looking foward to your next episode.

I agree with your assessment. When the sun comes up the trout are more vulnerable to predators so they go deep.

I have a bad feeling about that, it’s been way to nice for this early in the year.

awesome vid man! question by where are you fishing? I have been looking for a new spot to go wade fishing in Galveston, I usually go to San Luis Pass and fish the bay side but haven't had to much luck lately.

Awesome man! What kind of lure were you using?
@paulbrown1585 Жыл бұрын
You better get yourself a Do-Net and stop putting fish on a stringer in the surf. Or you can wait to have some shark feeding encounters, and hope they don't take a bite out of you. Remember I told you so.
@BeforeOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I use a net sometimes if the sharks are thick. But I’m confident with the stringer, it’s a 20 foot long one so it stays plenty far away. and after I have a couple I always take them to the cooler and restart with a fresh stringer. Surprisingly, the only time I’ve had sharks actually take fish was in the bay. But yes, a net is always a good idea for the surf! Thanks for looking out and thanks for watching.

Trout bites been great. I agree, leave the net at home. I'll grab them or use bogas, but no net.

Not there anymore, that’s a hotspot during the run, but it died out about 2 weeks after that vid and I went multiple times without even getting a bite.

Love your videos. What color of plastic do you like to use in the surf?
@lopezd35 Жыл бұрын
I think it’s cool you put those ones just over 15 inches back. I’ve been to the jetties on the Seawall but haven’t had much luck. Same on the dyke.
