Nice, it's always encouraging that you can pull a feed out of those local places, its hard but a feeds a feed. Those kahawai are never around when you actually want one!

Kia Ora bro, always appreciate your vids. Are you using braid for main line when you surf casting? And just connecting straight to that with your dropper rig? Chur👍
@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing Жыл бұрын
Hi M - cheers for the support 👍 Yep running 30lb Platypus bionic X9 braid - I have a swivel on my dropper rig in which I then tie to the braid. This stops any knots running through my guides... Here's a little clip - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXXNoqCZZ5mNbKM Tight lines

What’s your cue to strike. How do you know when? I struggle to figure that out.
@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing Жыл бұрын
Hi GR You do get to learn when to strike over time but I also miss fish when striking. A lot of times fish maybe just mouthing the bait and not actually biting or they can be tentative on the bite where you barely feel the bite and think it's just a tiddler then you strike and the rod buckles over like a horse shoe. I mainly let the small fish just bite and wait for more that grab or when the line goes tight - if fish are just rattling at the bait most times it's not worth striking as they are just small so I wait for that better grab. It can also come down to how you bait the hook and how big a bait you use to the size of fish you are catching/biting. Tight lines

Braid or mono?
@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing Жыл бұрын
Hi TR I use braid even around the rocks - I find I don't get anymore snagged up or lose gear using it so just stick with it. Tight lines

@@Reel-Kiwi-Fishing Is 30lb braid a good weighted line to start with surfcasting/landbase fishing?
