Loved the vid Gary. One of the best fights I've ever had was a plastic bag at Bowling on the Clyde. A seal followed it in thought I'd hooked the seal. Never will I forget that moment thanks for the memory Gary.

Fished here 2 weeks ago looking for some good sized flattys after only catching smallls of the pier and got absolutly hounded by eels. Still had fun tho shame the pub has been destroyed

Surely if you are fishing facing (across the river from) the old Golden Lion, you are fishing North Hylton not south Hylton as you are on the north side of the river

It's a tidal part of the river so it's saltwater which is free to fish.

Nice video Gary... question the rig setup looks to me like a float one without a float. Correct? Also what lead weight have u used since there is some current down stream the river. Thanks

Thanks, yeah it's pretty much the same as the float rig with out the float. I was using a 1oz ball weight then when the tide picked up I was using a 2oz plain weight.

I usually use a pulley rig or 2 hook paternoster rig on the pier mate with size 1/0 hooks.
