Who needs to go to BC when you have an amazing salmon run right here in Ontario! This video was taken at Duffins creek in Ajax, Ontario.

Those fish at approximately the 9:00 minute point were all on beds, just saying. I like to catch fish as well. Some people fish beds some do not. No hard feelings. I enjoyed the video. Thanks for sharing.

any river that empties into lake ontario will have salmon running in august - september. Oshawa Creek, Ganaraska river and so on will have thousands of fish swim upstream

Im new to salmon fishing, ive got the gear but i dont know anything specific. When is a perfect day to go salmon fishing? and is it to early this august in 2019 to go fishing? I assume the salmon season is going to start earlier this year, since the water and weather is sometimes fairly cool

Hi Vlad. Thanks for watching. I'm actually not that well versed in the salmon fishing myself. My friend is my main source of information as he is a much more experienced fisherman, plus he is around the lake and tributaries more often. That being said, I think they usually start to stack up at the river mouths in late August and will start making the run up the river dependent on rain and water levels. Probably best to stop by and check out the rivers now and then in early September to see if they are going. Best of luck!

Hey do you guys know how to tell the difference between Atlantic and pacific salmon? Do the Atlantic stay silver in these creeks?

@@viviand1893 I'm not really an expert. Usually count on my buddy to tell me which is which, but from what I understand, there aren't nearly as many Atlantic Salmon in Lake Ontario as Pacific Salmon. The trout do their run later in the fall and they have brighter colours

There isn’t a set time it depends when the creeks fill up with water Toronto area run happened late September this year and the Niagara run happened mid October and is still going in some areas unfortunately there illegal to fish

Although it is not illegal to do so in Ontario, i find it highly unethical to disturb fish that are spawning. You guys just reduced the chances of these salmon to reproduce successfuly to NIL. I hope you guys stay away from the redds in the future. Give'em a chance to reproduce.

Even if you’re doing catch and release, you should know its illegal to fish salmon in Ontario when they’re spawning or swimming upriver to spawn. They go through a whole lot in their efforts to get into the river system to spawn so they’re already at a huge disadvantage.

Totally inaccurate, yes the season closes September 30th there’s lots of rivers and creeks open YEAR round. The question is if it’s ethical or not. Was very painful watching him grab gills and then release.
