I mean, if you’re vegetation isn’t heavy, then that works. I find it hard to actually “punch” anything with less than a 3/4oz tungsten. Go find you some thicker cover

Although not necessarily the best option, you could still run a spinning reel. Probably need a 5000-8000 Penn Battle II/III or BG, or something similar. Honestly I feel the Battle 2 is better / stronger than the Battle 3, the Battle 2 had a completely aluminum construction (including the rotor arm) and on my 8000 anyways, had a bearing under the spool to take up sideway / twisting force on the spool when under load; They dropped that bearing on the Battle 3 but added it back in on a more expensive “dealer exclusive” version of the battle 3. Plus the rotor isn’t aluminum anymore, which is the main reason I picked up a battle 2 for snagging. I run 50-65# braid on that 8000, you could probably run 100Lb+ without any issues. It’s got 30 lbs of drag and 44” line retrieved per turn. Again not saying it’s the best option but it can be done, the 8000 is pretty massive and I don’t enjoy casting it all day, a 6000-7000 would probably work pretty well.
