My dad caught his pb bass in florida which was 12lbs 5 Oz on a 12 inch producto worm, they don't make em anymore but they were his go to. Especially after a fish missed a lure he'd flip that and catch them right away. Big baits do catch big fish lol

Slow your glide bait retrieve. Also try again in October or November. I'm sure you could catch a fish on it now but I'm in Texas myself. This far south the months up North you switch to trout tend to have better odds since the fish here fatten up much later since the winters are so much shorter.

Some “ponds” in newer communities are recently created and most likely won’t hold bass, especially if they are shallow. By practice I’ve seen Florida developers dig ponds just so they can use the extra fill dirt to build up roads etc. Shallow ponds do not do well to survive Florida’s dry season and should be avoided .

I think most of those big lures are for saltwater down there, up north those big lures are for muskie fishing! And very large northern pike....❤❤ Very fun to fish with, but man are they heavy for casting. Most of the time we troll them, because they will wear you out fast by casting all the time. Down there in Florida, you could catch a huge bass, and anything in saltwater that'll fititin its mouth! Good luck, be ready for a fight!

Question from a beginner, Is a bait caster reel the easiest line to throw out? It looks pretty easy but I’m not sure which one is best for me.
@gilbertfransiscus3 ай бұрын
i wouldn’t recommend you to use bait caster yet, because by my experience, they cant tolerate errors at all😂 usually for the spool section where you could easily get a backlash with them. Try to buy some light-medium rod with 2000-3000 sized spinning reel to begin your journey mate!

Don't know how big the largies get in the area you're fishing at but if it's not too far and it's feasible to do for a video, maybe you can try your big lures on the freshwater canals from Palm Beach county going down south to Broward and Miami-Dade county. You'd have a decent chance of getting whacked by a peacock or maybe even a snook that got into freshwater.

Obviously you haven't seen the OG chad shad, $62 isn't nothing compared to the none collaboration version 😅. Also your gonna want a 200 size reel since it weighs 2.4ozs so you Don't shred the gears on that lews reel, gear ratio wise 7:1:1 to a 8:1:1 for a glide bait.

You will absolutely hammer big fish on that gladebait. Big baits catch big fish but the amount of fish you catch are far less. Quality over quantity. I see people toss even bigger glide baits on the St John's River and south of melbourne in Stick marsh/farm 13 for HUGE bass. One of the best florida bass baits are large golden shiners that are that size or larger under a cork so the lures will find the big bass too.
