They must be on the chew. Caught three slightly smaller than this but bloody close at a certain marker the other day in Port Hacking. Saw some salmon stirring on top so we quickly threw in a few flick baits and ended up scoring some big trevs. Great fight on light gear. Good work spikes

That's the biggest Trev I've seen from enclosed waters. Caught quite a few that size at the Peak many years ago mixed in with rat kings, but never that big in bay or river. Well done!!

The claws of the nippers are supposed to fall off like the tail of lizards. So some people just remove before on hook, or someone keeps for better presentation. I like to keep that. Just break the pointy end of the claw with your nail and it won't hurt. And nippers are like candies for small fishes, you will have a lot of bites but it is really hard to get large one.

the no.4 hook is perfect for nippers, I'd personally go for the extra long shank ones so the hook comes out near the head
