I used these with the Team Catfish weight slides to make a kzbin.infoUgkxdmsDj7fQXe77DC0l7P7ua8B3PiESUubM Carolina rig and they were perfect for the ponds I fish. I have also used them to make 3 way rigs and these work perfectly. Haven't had any issues with them snagging in rocks or in weeds yet.

If you smoke the mold with a candle 🕯the sinkers won't stick, just tap the open mold with something non marring and the sinkers will drop right out. Great video, I've watched them all.

2nd that I always soot a mold.. just hold it at a angle a few inches away from the molds, also smoke the inlet, it will make the lead flow way way easier. Best mold release ever. I heat mine with a heat gun

The way these are made you will have to smoke or dry spray the mold, unless you can/want to make the cavity angle outwards towards each half and they'll then just fall out but most molds smoking or spray is unneeded. Over my 30 some yrs pouring sinkers, jigs, bullets, etc. and my stepfathers 50+ not one of our molds ever needed smoked or sprayed. I do have one newer jig mold though I may use it on to see if it'll help Do-it Wobble Head mold. The way it's designed the outside edges catch as you try and pull it open. I been going to make some custom jig and sinker molds just haven't got around to it yet.I will add handles and a hinge though and make them able to pour 8-10 or 12 at a time depending on size.

@@rider660r I smoke my molds for a cleaner pour not a easier release. I like to use different hooks and sometimes the molds will not pour as easy with larger shank hooks.

Yep. This video is AWESOME. :) I stopped short of making my own custom molds for jig heads, because the mold "blanks" were just as expensive as the dang finished molds. Lol NOW? I just learned how to make unlimited mold blanks for super cheap, super fast. 👌 AND, it's gonna be the same/same for plastic bait molds! Sweet! Thank you!

Your mold could have been heated more before pouring so your sinkers would not have so many wrinkles. This was a really great idea for making your own sinker mold. Thanks for the video!

You can use two flute high speed end mills for aluminum. Wd-40 is the best thing I’ve used when cutting it. You could also use some sort of saw to put pry slots on the corners in case it sticks

I make the moulds for my cast net weights using bondo. There are several tutorials on yt on how to make them. And yes, the bondo can withstand the heat of molten lead just fine. Also, if you really want aluminum and dont have the tools and stuff, lee moulds (they sell moulds for casting bullets) can sell you a blank mould with locating pins and handles. All you do is some drilling and shaping your “pattern”.

You can run a burning candle under the inside of your mold so that it coats it in soot. That way the lead doesn't stick. Also your mold is a bit cold, can see by the waves in the lead. Fantastic video! Made me want to go make some molds for myself now.

Awesome DIY VIDEO 👍👍. I make my line holes, the same diameter a plastic candy stick. Cut a length 3mm longer than the weight, push through the line hole. And mushroom them over, with a lighter. As it helps with the weight running, up & down, without chaffing your line. As that is how most, in-line Carp weight are especially in-line feeder weights. A small half Oz in-lines are awesome, when fishing for trout with doe-bait 🎣😃👍

You could press them in using a "C" clamp with a large enough throat opening to press the stainless steel rod into the blocks. You may need to use a piece of hollow steel rod over the clamp handle to increase the leverage to turn the screw and press the rod intl the blocks.
