Cart looks great, could save a few $ with a few mods. Maybe pvc electrical conduit would be cheaper, or modifying an off the shelf folding cart. I like your build, and might base my cart on a 200L plastic tub. Interesting assessment of the build at the end. AND simply AWESOME backing track music, spot on.

@pendopendo71662 жыл бұрын
@@brettelliott3308 I’m in Australia and beach access can be far, steep, soft sand or rough where you need a cart, so light and tough with WIDE wheels is the need. For jetties old stripped down folding prams work a treat, free on the footpath just kit them out as needed. Shopping carts are owned by supermarkets and rewards offered for returns, so used rarely, but do make great bicycle fishing carts.

Great build. And you're right, carts like these are great for people in construction, etc. that have stuff around the house all the time. I made one out of punch angle that I had lying around the shed and it turned out great except I made the inside a bit narrow, but it still fits my ice chest. A little tip for the rod holders: chamfer the inside of the top to keep it from digging into the foam/cork of your rod handle. It'll help keep from damaging it and from just getting snagged as you put them in.

This would be awesome cart to pull behind electric bike, just have to modify handle, ( longer to clear back wheel and handle the attach to back rack.) Screw on piece of thin puckboard on floor to keep water/mud off. Ebike carts are $3-450 so there you go a cheaper option .Another great video

Great job, there's nothing like making it yourself and trying to save money. Who knows the cart that you made probably will last longer, but cost effective, I get it. For the axel, I use shower curtain rail pipe. Place struts from axel to frame, or the wheels and axel will flex. Make the front leg base square, add some treated play wood or thick plastic sheet, to stop the front sinking into the sand. I also added a treated ply wood floor to mine. About cost, which will last longer, the $99 steel or the $140 plastic. Also, which is more fun to build.

Those 13” inch rims have blow out issues on rough terrain. I worked at a place and manufactured foldable aluminum carts. Our solution was to get two rings aluminum waterjet cut with five holes for the bolts (stick was 1/4” I think), deflate the tire, disassemble the bolts and nuts, place a 5 hole ring on both sides, and peel ace the bolts with a longer set. Additionally, if you want to beef up any particular joint, fiberglass and epoxy does the trick, I’ve played around with pvc waaaaay to much when I was a kid. Fun material.

One other option is starting out with a used pressure washer frame. These are easy to find at lawn mower shops as the pumps on these go bad and often the owners just junk them. Also I have made some PVC items and even when using the thick wall PVC for the handle I have had them crack and then you have a piece of junk. Just some thoughts that you may find useful.
