Hi legends, even though it was a slow year for me in terms of content.. the support from all of you has been tremendous and I'm super grateful. This will most likely be the last video for the year unless I can squeeze one out.. but until next time I just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year - Tight lines & New PB's!

Is shorejigging better or slow jigging better for bonito, kings, mactuna and other predator fish?
@FishingwithMarkiMark2 жыл бұрын
I would generally say work it mid-fast, however depends on their activity.. if they are shut down and the bite is hard you may have to go slow/or super fast to get a reaction bite.

Hey mate, thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed it! I have a back called "Koolers" soft esky backpack from catch of the way. Its waterproof and insulated so it keepers your food and water cool and your catch cool on the way back.

whats your opinion on the saltist hyper rods looking to get one
@FishingwithMarkiMark3 жыл бұрын
I do like them mate, good value for money. I prefer the new ones in terms of blank responsiveness and the taper being a little slower. Helps stop pulling hooks and allows the rod to work the lure more naturally. The new one is heavier than the old one as they have added resin to the blank. There is a couple benefits for the the resin, but I like the fact that it doesn’t show scratches like the previous model. Things I dislike about the new model, it’s heavier, not a fan of the spiral grip - feels a bit weird casting especially when going back to rods that don’t have it which is 99% and don’t like the full grip, I did prefer the split grip. It Put the weight down and felt less bottom heavy when casting. However it does have its benefits having a full grip.

Hi Marki. Love the video. I'm looking at getting the hyper PE 2-4. What you reckon the maximum size kingfish you would go after with that setup off the rock?

Hi for a 9ft rod in yamatoyo braid what'd best for 6000 size reel for shore for tailor flathead and your bread and butter stuff for beach? Thanks
@FishingwithMarkiMark3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, for Yamatoyo and Shimano 6000 reel your looking at PE3 (30lb) you'll get 300m of it. It breaks at a higher breaking strain but still thin/smooth enough to fish for your bread and butter beach species :)
@stevejones96363 жыл бұрын
@@FishingwithMarkiMark thank you also one more question I have been looking at the palms shore gun 8ft6 travel rod for beach shore fishing too do you rate that one too?
@FishingwithMarkiMark3 жыл бұрын
@@stevejones9636 I haven’t used that one in particular but they share the same blanks are my shoregun. If you need a travel rod by all means it should be great, but I wouldn’t get a travel rod unless I needed it. I’ve experienced over time on a well used travel rod the joins get loose over time. So you find yourself having to push the pieces back in mid session. If you get a wrap of your line around a piece when casting a couple of pieces could come flying out. I feel like they have to find a better way to connect the pieces like shimano use in some of their jdm rods a a twist and click method. Blanks generally expand/contract over time so fittings can feel tight/loose in different temperatures but over a long period of time I find that the joins loosen on some pieces. The joins really have to be made spot on, if there is a slight fitting error at the begging.. over time you’ll notice it being problematic.

Thanks for the kind words mate, around botany bay headlands. Plenty of spots, just be careful and get someone to show you around as new spots have their own risks/dangers. That's why I don't share rock fishing locations due to the younger audience. Cheers.
