I bought the 12 inch cutter but it doesn’t cut well. What am I doing wrong?
@TheSewingChannel3 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure without seeing it. But I did learn as you saw in video that the cutter has to be sitting on a level surface. And you do have to press down with firm intention ✅ I hope that helps.

Follow up, I saw a woman with a neurological disorder get hers to work, so I tried again. It took me patience and repetition, but I was able to cut straight strips of fabric for my binding. Given how difficult to impossible it is for me to hold a rotary cutter steady against a ruler, I will continue to use this to the best of my ability.

Thanks, no good for one layer or multiples. Takes way more effort than hand held cutter too. U less Fiskar can send you latest model and it works on what is for many a typical dippy table no point in wasting my money. No instructions is bad too. Blade could have snapped or cracked loose as it was, unsafe as it came to you. Won't be buying one. Loved your honesty and seeing effort you needed to make contact with fabric. Most want it easier than ha held cutter not harder. Had a good laugh too, for that I thank you too. Surprised Fiskar hasn't viewed this video and offered replacement unit for you to retest. Not doing so speaks loud and clear this product they won't stand by at all.

Not everyone has a perfectly flat surface to work on and the issue you are having is because the aluminium profile is stiff and will not dip in the middle , you would be better off with a 600mm x 150mm plastic ruler which would flex a little and an ordinary rotary cutter, then you could use the cutter on it's own to do curves or trim corners etc., and the ruler for the straight stuff. once you have learned how to use the markings on these rulers to guage widths properly you will wonder how you managed without one. PS I watched one of your bare basics the other day and have to dissagree with your correct way round for the toilet roll example because the paper should hang AWAY from the wall so that anything that may be on your hand that you would not want to pass to another will go down the pan and not on the wall. Regards from the UK
