I just finished installing this on my double gate last weekend. I gotta say I like it and will be using it on future gate projects. I also got the gate mate chrome finish handle instead of that black one in the video. It was a real nice touch. The hole was not easy to do but maybe it was because it was my first time. @JamesMontana3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate. I dont think it would be a major problem to fit the 50mm lock. It wouldnt effect the working of the lock. It would just sit 5mm in from the front of the gate. Just depends if it would bother you that it didnt sit flush. If youre only fitting the escutcheon on the front instead of a pull handle you could just rebate the door to accomodate it. Anyway i hope this helps. James

Brilliant video thank you! Just one question, you didn't show how to fit the keep so there is minimal movement between the bolt and the keep. In my kit the keep is deeper than on the bolt side - presumably to allow for some play. I'm just worried that it will rattle around in there too much!...
@JamesMontana3 жыл бұрын
Im not sure how i managed it but yeah i forgot to add that bit 🙃 Yeah the space is to allow for play. You can recess the keep into the post for a tighter fit. Or fit a gate stop so that the bolt fits tighter on the keep. I normalyy have 1 or 2 pad bolts fitted on all gates along with the key lock. These generally are a tighter fit and keep everything from rattling around. Hope this helps.

Hi great video but just something that popped into my mind... let’s say somebody climbed over the gate and got in your garden, what’s stopping them just unscrewing the screws on the lock to remove it completely making it entirely pointless? Surely all they would have to do is unscrew the 4 corner screws and the whole lock disattaches from the gate?
