Are they serious! Rule number 1 for royal wedding: Dress has to be modest. Think of Grace Kelly, Jacqui Kennedy, Kate, Diana, Prince Albert of Monaco's bride ...all had full or half sleeves

I don't mind the strapless, but it is so over-done, does not look good on every body type, and in no way can be considered unique.

+Pamela i don't like strapless either. straps ad support, comfort, and are a great way to add unique styles to the dress as they add for more possibilities. i sewed on straps to my prom dress and any strapless dress i buy. you are not alone!

Wow they really missed the mark on what a royal wedding dress would look like, They clearly looked at Dianna's dress and thought. Oh a royal wedding means a big puffy heavy dress. Umm no It was the 80s every thing was big and puffy. The royals all ways keep up with the current styles as well as holding on to tradition. I knew Kate's dress would not show a lot of skin. Uncovered shoulders for a royal wedding never would happen. I was not at all surprised when Kate's dress turned out to be very Grace Kelly.

I actually made my own wedding dress patterned after a Pnina Tornai, it had the flowers on the bottom, a modest v-neck, and put the crystals on myself. I patterned and made it after a 27,000 dollar gown, ended up making it for around 150 dollars.

Thanks, it actually looked similar to the next to the last dress made but not as big and poofy, I wanted something lightweight and airy and just simply sophisticated as opposed to the kitch of the crystals and ball gowns.

What one person may think or believe is "elegant" or "classy" another may not. What I do know, is that it's not lady like to belittle or insult people who dress or feel differently. What should matter is the character and heart under the clothes.You don't know all Americans, it's plenty that are just as self-righteous, pretentious but classy as " The Queen". I suppose that's what's really important in this world, looking the part. I could be mistaken but it's a variety of beauty, style and taste that appeals to different people. You can have your so called, "class" I prefer character and intellect. What I do know is that what is considered traditionally classy was formed by men, whites and the ostentatious rich elitist class. Men like and have always wanted some level of control over women, if you notice women, the style and clothes reflect down if you're conscious of it or not. Whites come from colder climates so the clothes will reflect that where people from warmer one's may find the attire ridiculous. The rich want to dictate and control people in society. As one commented said, " It's just not classy," because that's the purpose of everyone's life I guess.
