"Painted pictures always seem serene, but the reality is much harsher to see, and I need you to know that help is out of my reach. Or at least, believe me, I wish that you'd find peace. But there's no action in a thought, simply lost at sea of undeniable complacency and treachery. And I pray that you were given just a chance to be free. Maybe in time, but know I tried. Your pain is mine!" God, I'm still like on the verge of tears just writing that out lol. That breakdown is so emotional. This whole album is full of emotion.

The ending with the vocal build up and the breakdown was one of the most emotional things I’ve heard in the genre. Really hit me in the feels. Such a great song.

FFAA killed it with this album. Definitely contender for AOTY imo

Joe is a certified beast. Go watch their performance in the K! Pit that just dropped. He can pull off his cleans so perfectly live. The band has every aspect on lock. Shadow of Intent was far and away my favorite album this year, but FFAA may just topple them.

Probably my favourite album in the past 4-5 years easily. The Great Collapse was up there but this album definitely topped it. I listen to a lot of genres, many bands but FFAA is on a whole different level. Thy Art is really cool live, and they have some heavy shit but they're getting very cookie cutter. Off the newest album the only songs were Atonement and Eye For An Eye, those tracks have way more atmosphere to them and gives the sound sooo much more. FFAA every song on this album has a purpose. They all tie together. And the intros set such dark and gloomy feel. And although there are "cleans" on this album it's not a staple like it is with metal core. Its very minimal but it fits perfectly to add to the atmosphere of the song. SOTB is about as close to a 10 as I can get with albums in the past decade.

Not particularly for metal, they lack in the low end, but honestly for the money they have the best soundstage I've heard. That being said everybody hears what you're listening to and you hear everything around you too.
