Bit the bullet on the Spartacus 2 they feel like literal pillows on my hands only bad thing about them was that the finger compartment was full of loose threads and my fingers touch the leather other than that everything feel so good

I can confirm because I have the horsehair and foam mix gloves. It does help you hit the bag cleaner, and throw a lot easier than let’s say rival or ringside gloves

Picked up a pair of Benlee Redmond's from Germany. Definetly worth checking out. They are the best sub $100 gloves I have gotten.

It’s very durable. I have them. They might not look it but they are. Also the padding isn’t mouldable like a horsehair glove. It’s like a softer than normal foam glove

Simon, how can you rate the horse hair gloves good value for money when they cost so much money and will only last a few weeks of sparring ? Horse hair gets matted and goes hard after a few times and thats very well known top brands from Mexico not budget made in Pakistan, I agree not for amateurs sparring and to be fair I wouldnt allow any pros, mine or otherwise to use them in our gym

It was a difficult glove to score I had to balance the quality and the fact professional use of these would be very different to amateur use which I wouldn’t let them be used in my amateur sparring as stated Difficult to gauge how professional gyms would use these The training gloves do have more padding in than horsehair as opposed to the fight gloves which are majority horsehair I was happy with the score I ended up with but I definitely deliberated over it long and hard

Not to take away anything from Simon. This is my own opinion but I’ve got these gloves too. And the quality is amazing. The leather is thick, easy to catch shots and open your hand, nice compact but soft too. And the foam horsehair feels like a soft glove and doesn’t mould very easily or at all in my experience. I feel like the horsehair is positioned at the bottom by your knuckles rather than at the first layer of the glove. Hope this has helped

Picked the Spartacus up on black Friday. At 50% off I'd say they were hardly worth it. stitching is a mess, left and right glove don't even look cut from the same mold

@@Fit2Box no, I didn't. I dont live in the UK but had them ordered to a UK address to avoid customs and delivery as I'm passing through at Xmas. Empires return window is only 7 days. Hard to believe these are the same price as the phenoms and fly xs
