I don't do them every time, but I love when a no repeat session comes in with the trainer I watch a lot. If I absolutely hate a movement, I can grit my teeth through 45 seconds and know that I don't have to do it again. 🤣Sometimes I'm just not emotionally prepared to repeat.

What I love about her workouts is exactly what you don't! I have ADHD and repeating exercises and counting how many times I do a move, then doing it several times for different moves is impossible (I just lose count). Even if the trainer is counting for me it gets boring. I also like the not knowing what's next, it keeps me engaged. My goal is just to move my body so no repeat workouts that I can actually stay focused on is better for me than no workouts at all! I also love that she is very professional and doesn't try to encourage us with using phrases like 'think about your tummy in that bikini' or saying things like 'ooooh that burns you can do it!' every two seconds. She is very neutral and barely says anything about how hard it may be or how we're killing it and just says 'Well done' at then end. Love that about her.

I don't like no repeat workouts either. I get so overwhelmed when there's over 15 exercises. Also, very excited to see your review of Bailey Brown. I used to do her workouts, actually I moved on from Blogilates to her. They're incredibly similar, just to give you more of an idea of what she promotes.

The Bailey Brown expression, ha ha. I’m glad you mentioned that the physical appearance matters in numbers of subs, I think it’s a big factor. I use Jessica Smith’s streaming service, and she frequently combines bands and dumbbells. I usually skip the band, it’s less complicated. But now that you’ve explained it, it makes sense why she does it. I’ll have to try it. I really appreciate these videos, I learn so much. I’ve been following Jessica since 2013, plus I’m grandfathered in at her $99 per year opening special. But if she ever quits, you’d be my first choice. Hopefully, that comes off as a compliment! And love the thumbnail!

Excellent video as usual. I was a band only guy, but now have started to incorporate more dumbbell and barbell movements. You can lift heavier with bands these days with some like the Harambe or X3 systems that use a bar and a plate.

Her workout looks like the strength conditioning class my gym does on Saturdays, where it's not intended to get you to squat the most you absolutely can, but rather, go through the movements safely, but quickly with a bit of a challenge, to get your heart rate up.
@JustinaErcole4 ай бұрын
Fun! And to be clear, I wasn’t saying that this workout needed to be testing your squat max. But since we only did them once, I thought it would be best to challenge the legs with something more substantial. Thanks for watching!

I work out with a kinesiologist. I injured my right shoulder doing TRX pushups last winter and she incorporated a lot of band exercises to rehabilitate and strengthen my shoulders (also dumbbell exercises). I did the TRX pushups again last week for the first time since my injury and the stability I felt in my shoulders was amazing. Also, I agree with Justina on the value of doing more than one set of any exercise.

Hi Justina, personally I enjoy a no repeat workout once in a while, even though I know they are generally not ideal for muscle development purposes. The most decent (= not just random exercises thrown in together) no repeat video that I know of would be something from the Fitness Blender's series "Bored Easily", I think, particularly the HIIT ones! But yeah, that's not optimal by any means, just very fun! Hope you're having a nice weekend! ❤ Thank you so much for the video!

@@JustinaErcole i learned it from a personal trainer on KZbin but I’ve heard it repeatedly so I don’t remember who told me first. I watch a lot of Drs/trainers in this field. @emilyng2523Ай бұрын
I will have to respectfully disagree with some of your cons with bands. The interesting thing about bands is that you can rig it to have about the same eccentric and concentric load depending on the footplate you have. There's a guy by the name of Pascal Dornier who invented the band box with rollers and uses the full length of the band and starts off with tension right out of the gates. Also, there are different lengths of bands now such as Serious Steel 32 and 37 inch bands that gives more tension from the starting point. Also, the manufacturing process of the bands matter. For high quality layered latex bands such as Serious Steel and Clench Fitness, these bands are a lot more stuff whereas the ones on Amazon are molded bands and have a lot more stretch to them and not as much resistance. So it really depends on the bands and the equipment you have
@JustinaErcoleАй бұрын
Hey! I’ve never come across a client or gym with any of the bands you’re talking about, so it sounds pretty rare for people to have access to these things. I’m talking about the typical bands you see 99% of the time.
@emilyng2523Ай бұрын
@@JustinaErcole hey Justina! I never thought you will reply 👀. I train heavily with resistance bands so I'm probably in the minority with the equipment used. But it makes sense if you speak about 99 percent of the typical bands. I primarily train from home and not at the gym due to time constraints. But yes, there are 32 and 37 inch bands as well so it can accommodate people of all heights! I think I should have phrased it as there are more options that make resistance band training more difficult at the starting point of the rep. And for those bands, people buy them from online
@JustinaErcoleАй бұрын
Ohhh I see what you mean about longer bands! The physics remains the same though. You’re still getting the most resistance on the concentric, even if you can load the eccentric a bit more. Bands are great if it’s the only thing someone has access to, but I find that other modalities are far more effective while working with clients.

@JustinaErcole4 ай бұрын
Hey! This fully depends on your goals and what “results” means to you. If one of your goals is to increase how much you can deadlift, bands won’t be great for that. But if you’re just trying to keep movement as your routine right now, I think they’re great!
