I found one in South Austin tx last year. going for 700 that was vandalized. And missing wheels. I got some from the local junk yard and the night I made room in the garage my dog door darted across the street where a Corolla hit her. Still in the process of the restoration, but at least I'm having some fun.
@jordanciaramitaro63515 жыл бұрын
My son and I are nearing the end of a restoration (just putting the interior back together now) of 78 280 for his first car and every panel you mentioned including the front frame rails, parts of the front strut towers and the front torque arm mounts were all rusted. Oh, also the crossmember along the top of the windshield that holds the rear view mirror and visors had rusted say from the windshield leaking. Rebuilt the fuel tank, rebuilt most of the wire harness, replaced the fuse panel with a modern h style fuse one, rebuilt the suspension with prothane bushings, powder coated everything we could, subframes, springs, struts (which we also rebuilt). It’s taken us 3 years but we started driving the car 3 weeks ago and it’s such a blast. The L28 sounds so good and is so much fun to drive I hope he never changes the engine, but it’s fully his car and he can do whatever he wants with it. Personally I would pick a different car to do an engine swap 🤷♂️

its defnitely one of my dream cars, I love its styling. Wish someone came out with a kitcar not the firbreglass type, but the actual 1:1 quality and percision that went to making it back then. A remake with a more lasting quality. Id encase it and put it on a pedestal

I have a 71 240 and it’s a lot of fun, but you do have to keep up with the servicing . It’s a boss OG ride. Breaks necks.

As the owner of an awd, bagged, 8 speed, vq swapped, e46 240sx m5 hatch, I feel the need to boast that I brought my vq in to be worked on at the shop shown at 5:15

The 240 is one of the most beautiful cars ever created. Been looking for one for years. It's hard to find one here in south western Ontario that's not rusted out. If I ever find one that's got a really good body I'll do all the mechanical work myself. Oh well I'll just wait and see. Great video

Go to CA - I found one for $5K recently. Yeah, needs some work but not a total rust bucket.

I had a 76 280, it was a rusty pile, looked great outside, but whoa big holes. I sold it and bought a 72 Chevelle. Because every part for it exists and it wasn't as rusted out

There is a 240 sitting in a grassy field on top of a mountain where i live. I'm sure its a rust pile but my wife said I could check it out this summer. Gonna turn it into a budget rally/gambler car

ok this came out 2 years ago, but what i think about 240Z. Everyone has one memory they remember from childhood. For me its the 240Z, as soon as I saw it I fell in love with it and still am. So for me, that thing is special and i hope to get behind the wheel of one. Perhaps even get the keys 👀
