Spinning is a total body workout. your thighs, your abs, your back, shoulders etc. Try it and see for your self

How can you get your arms more involved in spin workouts? Can you pedal hard and swing your arms like with running?

@@bmp713i hold different areas of the pedal. Also i turn my hands inside, outside, i just experiment. So my triceps and biceps get a real deal of a burn. By the way, i am use to spinning too. So if you are new first speak to someone who knows what he/she is doing

Even if you spin or cycle regularly, if you get up off your stationary or mobile bicycle and try to actually run your ass all the way around one city block, or one town block, at a moderate speed, without stopping, you find that you're not actually in as good physical (aerobic) condition as you thought you were.

I know that but at least we’re doing something. Also people with bad knees have a hard time running like me. And don’t like to run .

I also use a fan bike fir hit workouts. Try that one.

Then do both. Whether you transfer from run to bike or swim to run or swim to bike, the fitness doesn't immediately translate to speed in the other discipline, as different muscles are in use!

Who cares, and runners are more at risk of injury. Just because someone is a great swimmer doesnt mean they are equally as good running. A sprinter doesnt have the same endurance as a marathon runner. Why the comparison???
