All this larking about takes me back 50 years to when me and my mate used to do similar hair-brained schemes. Brilliant

I’m loving this build 👍 now I’m no metal work master, but wondering if you could mark out a symmetrical shape on the top of the exhaust and cut it out, welding it back in upside down will give you a nice scallop for greater tank clearance. Not sure, just a thought. Great work🎉

Wow, those front engine brackets look great! I originally thought the front guard would hit the pipe but there is buckets of room! Coming up a treat Crag! Keep plugging away.

Gee it’s a different listening process with 2 people in the vids, Ime so used to focusing on one voice and then Paul speaks and my minds going, what was that what did he say. Then I lose track. Must be my simple mind 😂

Your metal work is hands down 2nd to none ,top notch. Just curious why no plasma cutter ?

Narrowly avoided joining the Fin Abuse Club. It's looking good. Great project. Even if a bespoke exhaust was calculated on paper to match the overbored ported engine, it's dimensions would still be compromised when fabricated to actually fit on the motorcycle.

Love the process and very much enjoy the build. I am wondering, as a person who spends a lot of time on pain meds, did this idea start after a rather indulgent day? 😂😂😂😂😂

could you not change the studs for bolts and that would allow you to take the head off without a engine removal?

The issue there might be that you are using steel bolts into aluminum barrel with a steel piston sleave. With studs and nuts you narrow the odds conziderably of the steel bolts corroding permanatly to the alluminum.Yes there are ways to make sure that doesnt happen but lets face it. Humans are idiots lol. They are disimilar metels so there will be a corrosion issue that will cause problems

@@timtharp835 bearing in mind I don't know what I'm talking about in any kind of authority. Usually when a nut and stud set up snap It's cause the nut has corroded to the stud, so one of two things happen, either the whole stud winds out or it snaps at it's weakest point. I doubt the steel sleeve has any effect as it does not come into contact with the bolt. It's a two stroke and considering who owns it, the head will be coming off now and again so the bolts probably won't have time to get properly stuck. We are talking about changing what looks like a steel stud and bolt for a what I assume would be a good quality stainless bolt. I think in this instance this would be fine but like I said I am no expert and very well might be very wrong, that's why I asked the question.

. It is the oldest hotrod practice in the world. My dad stuffed an Alason v12 aircraft engine into a 1934 Chevrolet business coop. In 1947. Fast? absolutely, reliable? not at all. He did not drive it unless he had a couple of extra axal shafts in the car.

I'd fit that bracket the other way around, with the open end facing forward. But that's just my taste.

Craig be careful using the other head , squish on two strokes is very critical especially on a tuned engine so if combustion volume or shape has been modified on the original engine and the second one is not the same volume it may run seize or detonate.....

I think instead of dog boning it and cutting it in more you should go the other direction, and put a positive radius to it.. more beef that way too, that big engine is really going to torque the snot out of those lil braces . .
