I show you how to clean and preserve your Sea Eagle Inflatable boat. The Sea Eagle FishSkiff 16 can fold to just a fraction of the size allowing you to fit it in the back of a small car. The 2023 Ford Escape offers enough room to fit this 16 Foot boat folded up.

Great video. I'm sure it can't hurt to inflate the boat in your own driveway and wash it off like that, but it's a lot of extra work to do very often if not using a trailer. Sea Eagle recommended Simple Green and I towel dry, wipe and and rinse with that at the boat launch before packing up my Paddleski's. I'm in fresh water 80% of the time. If I use it in salt water, I make sure to take the boat to a lake with in a couple days to be sure to get the salt off. My Paddleski 435ps is 15 years old now, and people say it looks like new. Although, not as shiny as your boat. I probably should use the 303 every 6 weeks as you advise since I hope to keep my Paddleski's another 15 years. I found taking the motor transform off to be way too much work to have to install it for each use. I did not find it too quick to install/remove on either my 435ps or my 437ps. Maybe with your much larger motor, and spending possibly all day on the boat it's not a big deal. I'm still able to fit either Paddleski along with my Torqeedo motor and the main accessories in the trunk of my small sedan with the transform still attached. My boating excursion typically lasts 1.5 - 3 hours. I'm not on the boats all day like some, so every extra minute of setup/teardown/cleaning time quickly adds up. But I'm out several days a week during the season typically using mine. When I bring my full sail rig it stays in the back seat, as do the swivel seats when I use them, and my EZ-Cart. Most of the time, it's only the EZ-Cart in the back seat as I use the inflatable Deluxe Seats to save space in the car and free up my back seats for passengers. Love these boats! Keep the videos coming.

@@SeaEagleBoats You bet! i have 7 of your boats. If my GoPro decides to work this season, and I figure out which video editing software to use on my new laptop, I'll be sharing some of my adventures. I got a GoPro 7 Silver as a gift a few years ago. It would freeze up more often than not and I had to wait until the battery died to use it again. I did a firmware update and had better luck with it a few weeks ago, although when I took a clip with it last week, it froze up again. This time I managed to be able to turn it off. We'll see if it's any better this season.

Aloha@@classicarcadeamusementpark4242, that would be great to see your videos! I found the older GoPro 5 Hero Sessions to be the most reliable. So much so that I pick up a couple from Facebook marketplace every now and then. Super light, super small, and super reliable.

@@SeaEagleBoats Thanks. I recall one of the musicians in my old band had one, and it seemed to work fine unlike my GoPro 7 Silver. I'll consider getting one. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have two cameras for different angles if they are inexpensive on the used market. I have 7 Sea Eagle kayaks/boats. I've put up a couple videos, but unedited and I'd really like to put up some better videos. My favorite of Sea Eagle's boats are my Paddleski's. I have both the older 435ps and the 437ps. As I don't fish and also like to do some kayak paddling as well as motoring and sometimes sailing. The older model paddles much better than the current model so I use that more. But I do have a Torqeedo 1003 motor and a full sail rig. My first 435ps is 15 years old this season, never patched, and has been used over 500 times at more than 150 locations across the east coast. I have lots of footage already, but not too professional looking and no always easy to shoot while navigating the boat, but I'm sure I can find some good clips to share. Both model Paddleski's tend to get the front passenger wet from waves crashing over the bow when it is weighted down with a passenger, so having a motor faster than 3HP wouldn't really do a lot of good unless I'm alone or it's someone that doesn't care or a flat as glass day. Is the FishSkiff 16 better about that? On a normal day, there are some waves and it's rarely flat as glass out on the bays or larger lakes. I usually have to go at trolling speeds to avoid my passengers from getting wet when we hit waves. The Paddleski's are awesome boat though, and fit in the trunk of my sedan, and not nearly as heavy as the FishSkiff 16.

@@classicarcadeamusementpark4242 all great points! Yes, the FishSkiff16 is a much dryer boat by design. Most especially now with the bow keel.

Love that it can fit in the back of a small car! Asdie from the cleaning, how long did it take to deflate, roll up and pack in the back of the car?

Hello Alex, thanks for all your great videos. I talked to Jerry in tech support at Sea Eagle today. Her helped answer some questions about mounting my Garmin Force on the Sea Eagle bow mount of the FSK16. I'm debating the 5HP or 9.9HP Honda. I'm 6"1 and 180 pounds. Can you handle loading and unloading that 9.9HP Honda from your vehicles, then mounting the 9.9HP on the transom of the FSK16 all by yourself? I plan to fish with friends, but will need to be able to mount that 92 pound dry weight 9.9HP Honda by myself at times. Curious how you manage, and any tricks you have for mounting and unmounting the Honda 9.9HP outboard. Can you tell me more about the dolly you use that shown in this video? Thank you

@SeaEagleBoats 26 күн бұрын
Great question! Both are great motors and each have advantages of their own. The 9.9HP Honda will give you plenty of power and speed for any occasion no matter how much gear/people you have on the boat but something like the engine cart shown is definitely something you will want to have if you will be inflating a deflating the boat every use. The 5HP Honda will be easier to transport alone and has a built in gas tank which I really like, you can just use the built in gas tank and bring an extra small portable gas can with you to refill if needed. If you want to keep your setup as portable as possible I'd go with the Honda 5HP since it does push the boat around nicely and is easier to carry by one person. If you will have someone with you a majority of the time and possibly will get a trailer in the future then the 9.9HP is the better option. If you do go with the 9.9 the only trick I can really recommend is getting the cart and locking the motor in the straight position when carrying it. I hope that helps, here is the link to the cart shown in the video and let me know if you have any more questions - www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000XWDAHU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Possible, this will be my next one. How well it handle choppy water and 15 mph wind?
@SeaEagleBoats
@SeaEagleBoats 2 ай бұрын
It really is an awesome boat. With the new inflatable keel it wants to cut through chop and handles spray very well. In the most recent video we did we got caught in 15mph winds in the Gulf and I was really able to just cruise through it. If you are solo I do recommend moving gear forward in rough conditions for the best performance. Cheers! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmXGomlmjcyghM0

I've never owned something like this before. Can you fully set it up and mount it your roof instead of packing it up? I have a sedan and was wondering if this would be a better option.
@SeaEagleBoats
@SeaEagleBoats 4 ай бұрын
You absolutely can. It is completely fine to leave the boat fully inflated. With all boats though if you are putting it on your roof you will want to make sure the rack is set wide enough apart to fully support the boat. You may also need to add a tie down for the bow and stern.

Will like to know if this boat have welded seams. How durable? What is the thickness of the fabric?
@SeaEagleBoats
@SeaEagleBoats Ай бұрын
Great question! The FishSkiff 16 has double layered glued seams. The rest of the boat as well is double layered 1000 Denier PVC. This boat uses a high pressure technology called fusion drop stitch allowing it to be as light as it is and inflate up to 15psi for the most rigidity, this means it has thousands of threads running throughout the inside of the boat for extra strength. We also recommend using 303 Aerospace protectant as it keeps the material healthy for many years. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Cheers!

So how long does it actually take to inflate and set up, then how long to disassemble and pack?
@SeaEagleBoats
@SeaEagleBoats 2 ай бұрын
Full inflation and setup time for this boat is about 20-30 minutes. Deflating is ever faster since you can open the valves and roll it right up. What adds on time is packing into the vehicle. With a pickup truck you can toss everything in but with a smaller vehicle like this you need pack it in neatly to fit everything. I hope that helps answer your question. Cheers!
