Fitting a Tow Bar and Electrics to A 2019 Suzuki Jimny Part 1

I ordered a Hamer rear steel bumper/tow bar from Australia. It looks fancy with the Hamer bullbar up front so we decided to put a Hamer bar in the rear too. Awesome

I'm installing it today. It should take 2 hours to install the bar and and maybe an hour to fit the wiring.

@@highergroundlifestyle The only thing is would suggest is to secure the left and right side braces first because they fit like a glove and then install centre cross bar because it was so heavy.

Can you install something else instead of the towbar ? For instance a recovery point ?

I’m not aware of anything else that will fit into the towbar if that’s what you mean - but the towball would make a good recovery point in any event. Cheers. N

Richard, glad it helped! I’ve now had the rear panels on and off a few times so it gets easier. Have also found the bar as easy to remove as I’m moving to my other Jimny. Cheers. N

Hi. The second video in this series covers the electrics. If you use the Suzuki loom it’s just “plug and play”. You may need a 7 -14 pin adapter. Cheers. N

@@MrDarcy-OlMan Absoloutely!!! You may pay a few more £ but you will get a bar that fits and a wiring harness designed for the car. That’s what I used. The aftermarket ones are a real mixed bag but they will all require you to cut and splice wires. (I’ve seen people get in a right mess with them) Defo go factory bar. Best wishes. N

From Suzuki. I wouldn’t use any generic loom, these are “plug and play” with no connections to be made. Cheers. N

Probably just slightly rusted! Give it a good spray of WD40 and see how that goes. Best wishes. N
