That looks like a swing check valve in the line to the irrigation system. if so, it will never close mounted in the vertical position. 😮

I generally place valves where they cannot be "knocked or bumped open" if something falls onto or someone bumps them while working around them. ignoring the silly flow direction noise people cry about. that is when they are placed where that can happen, why? because I have drowned myself and seen many floods from just those situations over the years. including major freeze-ups and even large rodents having turned them on some how, by climbing, pawing, scratching, etc. yeah, you could take the handles off but then they get lost

I love the swing check valve with the arrow pointing down. Makes it completely useless because the gate is always open. You would need a lot of backflow before it lifted the gate and shut it off. Don't blame you for leaving it. The fittings were too close together to cut it out easily. It won't hurt anything. Just useless.

Hey Mikey you can make a slip coupling really fast out of fittings with a stop you just carry a little Dreml tool and grind the little stops off it only takes a second to do. I learned this in a tough spot.

You should have used a Viega Slip coupling with no stop. I know there incredibly expensive but I still buy em for the piece of mind.

That is exactly why viega has Smart Connect sealing rings, the fitings leak if unpressed. Otherwise it acts lik a sharkbite.

Another great video. Your ProPress non-pressed discovery reminds me on my own internal love/hate for this product. I only recently bought the tool and use it on the odd job within the last year, but I've worried about this possibility. I've typically used ProPress as an 'adaption' in tough situations where I can continue with another medium (my go to is Wirsbo expansion pipe/rings). Though I'm not too old to be an instant hater for new technology, the lack of clear 'pressed' I do wish there was an additional level of safety on the press fittings that could quickly & visually tell its pressed.

the temperature on the refrigerant lines on a heat pump in heat mode will dry those gaskets and they leak with time, no doubt
