Should have called up Taylor Ray, he's been doing the exact same build on his C6 for the last few months. Same trans, bell housing, and diff, all going into an LS. He could have told you all off the required measurements and cuts for the tunnel.

@@krisbarnard1684 Cutting the floor out and welding back in is annoying as hell. Unless you're seriously going FULL racecar (meaning nothing OEM) then sure cut away. Modifying the tunnel is a superior choice here

I'm not sure if you were aware or not but Taylor Ray is doing the same drivetrain in his comp car and it definitely requires chopping up the trans tunnel. With that in mind I hope that you made the decision to go front mount after you busted your as$ on the paintwork. I have cut up a freshly painted interior and I would hate for you to go through the heartbreak of your floor peeling off. All in all I'm incredibly excited about watching you further progress on your drifting journey.

He had to get a different style transmission as well to make it fit, he tried the g force and the shift mechanism was going to make it difficult

They said that the top part of the trans tunnel will be a removable piece to help speed up and maintenance at the track, so as long as they measure it all up and cut once it will still look just as tidy as it does now

If you moved the engine forward it would give more room for the transmission but also it would change the dynamics of the handling. With all that weight forward it would feel more like a fox body Ford Mustang.

Serious question don't you think the oil pump being driven by the Serpentine belt is a liability? If u toss a belt ur loosing oil pressure wouldn't it be way better to be ran directly off the balancer? With the corvette front cradle there's no room to run the oil pump down low like most is that why you have it up high and off the accessory belt? I just personally would rather it ran straight off the balancer

It weird to see double disk clutches or multi clutch packs in light weight vehicles. Like the entire care weights less than the engine and transmission in the Kenworth I drive and it has a double disk clutch. This is a cool build, and I am looking forward to seeing it come together.

I know that a lot (if not all) of these KZbin builds happen based off of other people's time lines just to get stuff done. But when I see stuff like this where a content creator has to cut body panels after their car just got a fresh paint job, it hurts my OCD a bit 😅 Paint, in all honesty, would be the last thing I get done to a build. Make all the cuts and welds, and make sure everything fits exactly how you want it... Then take everything apart, have it painted, and gently put it all back together. I mean it's not like most of these creators don't have like 6 other builds to keep the content flowing while they wait for their painter or engine builder or whoever to have another opening for them down the road when their build is in its final stages right?
