Love the 'fitting myself' style of video! I live in South Korea, and my driving range is basically the setup you have in this video, so I have access to all the data, and this video gave me some great ideas of how to optimize my driver. Big thanks. One head I would love you see you do this with is the Mizuno St-Z 220. It is unique in that the price point is quite a bit lower than others, and for me that matters alot as I don't have $600+ to spend on a driver. Also, after watching you hit Mizuno predecessor in last year's bracket challenge, I'd really enjoy watching you fit yourself for the new model.

Congrats Matt this is getting more and more interesting everyday! Also really appreciate your openess to ask and accept suggestions. I have the feeling that the Cobra will win after today's autofitting but it will be definetely close. On the other hand I have the impression that the Rogue Max LS has more potential than it showed. I guess you only hit it with one shaft which might not be a good fit (was it Tensei AV White?). As @Phillip Parsons suggested I would give it another try with another shaft of your like

@mjwidell2 жыл бұрын
@@whocares3986 I played a Ventus Blue 6X tipped 1" and then moved to a TR 6X tipped 1", so I can't compare exactly. TR is tighter feeling (like the Black), but still smooth in overall feel (like Blue). Less kick than Blue but not harsh like Black can sometimes feel. Like most describe, the TR is the mid-point between Blue and Black - which was exactly what I was looking for in my driver.

I was caught between the tmag and cobra in my fit a couple of weeks ago, found the taylormade strangely needed setting up right on the toe for the middle strike, cobra just had better consistency with a more neutral flight. I landed with a Mitsubishi Tensei White in 70X, super consistent but stable when putting extra speed through the shot! Worth a try

Looking like an autopilot club with Ho Hum 330-340 yard drives at the end there. 🙂 Didn’t seem like swinging out of your shoes and kept things in sequence. Looks like a controllable, playable club that could probably handle more with the stiff Ventus Black there. Cool getting the talk through with some of the stock shaft offerings too. Like that.
@thomasveal33512 жыл бұрын
I would love to see you do something similar with the LTDx. You may find it more stable with the RDX Blue at 9 degrees than the low spin model. This may also yield more ball speed and a more penetrating ball flight at that loft. Just curious.

Love hearing your voice and the slam when your driver hits the ball ... I do miss the vibe between the Matt and Ian. Three years or so of videos is in the past. This video is not my bag as I do not like the Hazardous shaft and I do not like Cobra .. hahaha. I am an Oban guy. Your fault apparently. Last year became expensive but soo worth it. An old Oban Devotion shaft in a Mizuno fairly new head. Sometimes I change it to a Miyazaki 7777 head which I love Oban Kyoshi black in my 5W. Oban Isawa Red in my hybrid.. What I learnt last year was that I needed a 75g ish shaft and the flex could vary -which was brilliant to know. It then becomes interesting as the stock shaft may be useless regardless of stifness. It works for the regular "let me hit 15 shots with driver, yeah it works ok but it is new ... so how good will it be when I am used to it.. " . Folliwed by same procedure with the next driver to purchase. . I paid for a shaft for one of my best friends son who then went from hcp 15 to 4. . So, coming back to your video and suggestions: I would like to see stock shafts and shaft weight differences. This may be for your righty-club hitting videos but also to do the same thing with for example hybrids. Is there a differens? Or maybe not. Depends then on swing speed, hitting down or up, inconsistent swings etc. You have the skills to go left with a bang or with a regular amateur swingspeed. Thanks for being back!

Out of curiosity Matt what is the total weight of the setup for your stealth and the cobra? I find that "total" club weight is a subject rarely touched yet has a substantial impact on performance. From memory the average driver weight on tour is ~330gms, you gotta swing the big hammer to hit da-bombs...💣🔨

You really liked the RDX Blue when it originally came out, but if I remember correctly, you played the TX version that day. Don't you think that the extra stiffness of the TX vs the 6.5 would have helped you tighten up the dispersion here?

Only thing would be maybe giving a shaft like the Ventus TR you think fits you better a run in one of the Callaway drivers, be it the regular LS or the Triple Diamond LS. Unless of course you just hated the look of them at address or something, but if it was just going too much right and it is easy enough to give it a try, wouldn’t hurt to maybe hit like 5-10 balls with it off camera and see if it works well enough to chuck into the conversation. Obviously no adjustable weights on it though so it may just not suit you enough that without the adjustability it isn’t viable. I’m only suggesting it since I know you said you quite liked the look, feel and sound during your initial TD review.

Matt, I know at the end of the Rogue driver video, you said your old TSi3 was in 10 degrees. Since you've been putting more spin on the ball, have you tried any of the TSi drivers in lower lofts (8 or 9 degrees)? I find my 9 degree TSi2 fairly forgiving cranked down to 8.25 (it's also available in 8 degrees directly from Titleist). Of course, you might just want something different this year, but it'd be cool to see a variation of your old driver go up against the Cobra and Stealth, just in a comparable loft. You already know the shaft you like best in the TSi, so hopefully it would just be a matter of putting a lower lofted head on it to compare.
