Someone WILL cook in that thing, some day. So might as well fix it right, now. Our retreat center had an exhaust vent clean once a month; & we were a vegetarian kitchen. In town, an over one-hundred year old building burned to the ground, when their meat-cooking stove vent-a-hood caught on fire, then caught the "between the floor" area up above on fire. That place hadn't cleaned their vent in ages. 😢 It is very sweet to see a young man first learning to handle a large equipment. ❤️

As much as I’ve grown to love this crew, and as much as I love the look of this kitchen, I’m in agreement about the "cookability" of the layout. It’s drop dead gorgeous but not very functional. I’d need some rollerskates to get around from the fridge to the sink to the range and over to the cabinets for pots and pans. Maybe the big island will help as a staging space. I’m just not used to everything spread out when I’m making a meal…don’t hate me for wondering about the whys. I’m very supportive of this project and I thoroughly appreciate everyone involved. Just hoping you don’t have any regrets.

Not functional at all which doesn’t make sense to me. Wouldn’t be able to drain pasta or get things from the fridge without a lot of distance to a sink.
