I hope there is a very low limit on the amount of those massive cannons that you can build otherwise it could become effectively impossible to contest map control against the Maltese. It is kind of wild that Malta made it into this game ahead of so many more relevant civs, but on the other hand... one more civ, yayy!!
@FitzBro2 жыл бұрын
It takes up 7 pop, you can make as many as fits your population. You cannot target with these units, they have a mind of their own!

Malta was actually pretty relevant in the 17th century, their galleys were almost as ubiquitous in the Mediterranean as the dhows of the Barbary States. Outside of their navy however they were pretty small scale.

@@FitzBro imagine building a belt around some gunpowder depo to ensure a fast fire rate from the fixed guns, keep inside in a safe area the depos and maybe centinels to finish any unit that manage to approach. In 1v1 it's a bad choice unless it be to hold a chokepoint but in team games can be crucial, you cover your ally and he destroy the enemy
@nosnibormailliw72262 жыл бұрын
The Canon is too OP they should have made it a shipment that comes in a wagon so you can't constantly rebuild them. When you deconstruct them you get all the resources you spent on them back, so you can use your Explorer to build one behind your army anywhere annihilate or weaken the enemies army, move your army up abit and deconstruct and rebuild another Canon further out and repeat the process until your trapping the enemy in their own base. I just spam their unique rifleman and keep a small group of swordsmen and pike men that I can send out to quite literally use as Canon Fodder. Paired with hospitals to heal and train units and supply depots which improve fire rate and can be blown up if their going to be destroyed the Maltese are undoubtedly the most OP nation in any age of empires games

Looks good, fun units but it really bothers me that they did the colours of the hospitaller knight wrong. Should be white cross and the tunic could be the player colour. @@willemverheij3412 However in the previous part of the franchise the difference between the dark age and Imperial age didn't create such sort of dissonance as it is in the 3 part. In Age of Empires 2 everything looked acceptable from the esthetical point of view. No 17th century pikemen marching alongside with red coats, no saloons in the 17 th century, no Napoleon against Ivan the Terrable. Age of Empires 2 didn't look like a nonsense to some extent. Moreover, it has quite rich system of options that you can modify as you wish. You can select starting era and final era in order to avoid of strange and ridiculous situations. There was a big downgrade in the functions of the game and the game modes as well in the third part. But in spite all of this Age of Empires 3 still holds the tops. And it's important to admit that there are very few strategy games with a deep and well-considered gameplay that Age of Empires series has. Anyway, according to the number of communities globe and game support the second part is in the top of ranking and nothing from Age of Empires series could be as good as this one.
