Your flow is awesome. I just found your website. You teach Tai Chi as mirror image. I started learning Tai Chi that way many years ago then moved away and couldn't find an instructor. Searching always for a mirror image instructor. They all said it was too hard to do that way. Will explore your Tai Chi later. Right now Into Qi Gong right now, yours is the best I have seen
@YogaLilyStudio2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Rodger, that is really kind feedback. Tai Chi is very challenging to teach as mirror but gets easier with practice. I still have to drop in to back view on occasions as it can be even more confusing in mirror, but I like the benefit to the practitioners when they can see my hand positions/movements which may become lost to view. I prefer mirror I can see more clearly when things become a little tricky for people to follow/understand. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the Qigong practices, I am hoping to have more posted soon. Warmest wishes, Lily 😊

My wife are seniors and I have been following your eight brocades video daily for months now and love it! We have been trying to also do this five animals exercise. Unfortunately it seems to be a bit too much for damaged disks in my back some days and I need to skip it. When I can complete it I usually feel the beneficial effects and love it as an adjunct to eight brocades. Thanks again for your well-made, peaceful videos!

Hello Gary, Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback. I am very happy to hear you have both benefitted from these daily practices over the last few months. I recently uploaded a new practice called Yi Jin Jing which you may find a little kinder for your damaged disks than Five Animals. Yi Jin Jing Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5WQknV_hLCalZo There is a forward fold in the last movement (swinging the tail), only bend half way or I highly recommend a chair under your hands. Thank you again for practising with me. Warmest wishes, Lily

Help. In the tiger thing, is she pulling qi from earth and into body, and then pulling qi from heavens into body?.. is that exactly what I should be thinking?

It's more gathering Qi, but you correct in a sense, as you practice tiger you are embodying/emulating the spirit, or power or movement of the animal itself, which would be strength, so pulling would fit. Lily 😊

I feel like I'm dancing! On the first bear form, are you pushing your fists in and actually massaging or just letting the weight of your upper body movement move the tissue over your fists so the massage is passive?
@YogaLilyStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Minissa, there is a lightest of pressures from your finger knuckles around the stomach area. It is subtle but you will notice the shoulders and arms do not move; it is the rotation of the body that creates the massage movement of the hands around the stomach/intestine. When you go around squeeze ribs down towards the hip, this is also true for the second bear movement, by squeezing the rib toward the hip brings the elbow forward then back. I am thinking I should create a video for each movement individually which explains the subtleties of each one. Lily 😊
@minissa20093 жыл бұрын

Yoga Lily The gratitude is entirely mine as there are few demonstrations of traditional Chi Gong that clearly explain the gathering and movement of the Chi and the most importantly the breath. As we both know over 5000 years ago the Chinese Emperor commissioned scholars to write a manual of medicine and the most important aspect in the writings was the cleansing of the body through breath. Yes, I am enjoying your other videos and hope your channel received the acclaim that it deserves 👍👍

Hello, the movements really are designed as a set that target the bodies core strength and release tension in the spine. I would suggest that with the Deer exercise that you don't twist so deeply, just a little bit but always listening to you body's feedback. Additionally in tiger avoid folding forward too deeply, just a little bit is perfectly okay. Be gentle with yourself and the sequence will help build strength to support you over time. Lily 🙏

@YogaLilyStudio3 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's a really good question Minissa. Short answer, yes. Longer answer: On 'seizing the prey', when you step forward one foot you fold forward from the hips 30° with a nice flat back. When you 'Stretch' fold forward, again this is 90° with a flat back; less than 90° if very uncomfortable. Lily 😊
