I was born in 1999, but don't worry I didn't have a real Barbie collection until 2005, which was when Fairytopia was released. I had Swan Lake dolls too, but I think those may have come after because I was only 4 when the movie came out (2003), so I was still too young to appreciate them.

i had the rose princess doll too! that overskirt wound up being something i used a lot for other dolls too. and the pet cat one, although my sister and i lost the cat pretty quickly and all the accessories just perpetually floated around our barbie stuff. one of my favorites was a ken doll with color changing hair that had blonde highlights when exposed to cold/hot water. ALSO!! I had the notorious magnetic pregnant belly midge and doctor barbie set and that midge doll with the jointed elbows was my gateway into being a fan of ball jointed dolls. thank you for sharing, it's really awesome seeing these small shared experiences through memorable barbies

i cant forget how broke we were during childhood, never even had the chance to buy those Barbie Dolls, its expensive as hell. Out of all these, I only had the last one. And she was my second all time favourite ❤️ I absolutely adored her hair, because it was so silky, and I can't even begin with the outfit. I played with this set so much the dress straps fell off at some point. Also, there was another Barbie set with a cat that I did actually own. The cat had like five kittens (you could put them in the cat's belly) and there was a stroller for them. It was my all time favourite 🐈💕

As a cat owner, I’m also confused as to why there’s two food bowls. I’m just assuming it’s an extra one because they are small, and I know I lost a lot of small accessories for toys when I was young, especially from my barbies, littlest pet shops, and Polly pocket stuff. Loved the video ❤️

It's for dry food. Some cat owners have a bowl of dry food they leave out all day, that's why it's bigger, and then a smaller water bowl and a smaller bowl for wet food that they only get during feeding time.

Another cool one if you should ever find one was Bowling Party Stacie. She had a magnet on her hand that held a bowling ball and it came with a lane and pins that you could bowl with. Happy to see some doll content! I think you might enjoy checking out other fashion dolls from around the world, it's a cool way to learn about different countries values and culture. Licca-chan is considered the "Japanese Barbie" equivalent and she is biracial and she has older family members (they made dolls of her grandparents and parents) which I think is unique because it gives incite to their value placed on respecting elders. In America you don't see a lot of middle aged or older dolls, so I think it's really interesting.

When I was a little girl every Halloween we read this book that I believe was called “Halloween Masquerade Party” Basically Barbie is dressed as a tiger and she has this party to go to but Kelly needs help picking a costume and making fairy wings for the costume. Then the lights go out and they think it’s a ghost but it’s just their kitten pulling at streamers and turning out the lights. Anyways, this Halloween my mom found the doll they released to go along with the book and she gave it to me on Halloween. I was a girl from a mid class in Brazil until the late 2000s, so it was very expensive to have more than 5 dolls per year, I had two for my bithday, one for the child's day that we commemorate here at 12th october and two other dolls on christmas.
