I’ve been late to the tap and taken off guard quite a few times over the last few decades. I don’t recommend ever pushing it too late, but it happens sometimes, especially in competition or heated training sessions. This video is about the 5 chokes that I have slept on, some of these multiple times, and explanations of why people tend to tap too late to these.
Always be as safe as possible in training and competition. I hope these details help. Thanks as always for watching!

Thank you soooo very much for the honest video. I have learned that the best teacher is to learn from your mistakes (especially when you have to tap out from being submitted/choked out). By seeing this video, it really helped me to also be aware of/pay attention to placement of the opponent’s hands. I absolutely love your videos!!!!

Anyone who has been training as long as I have has most likely gone to sleep at some point. If they deny it, that’s a big ego problem for sure.

I enjoyed this one. The baseball bat choke is the exact same scenario I went to sleep. Being choked out is a strange feeling. It's not that bad. But at the same time feels really creepy and horrible 😂

Baseball bat choke sent me to the shadow realm. Feeling was the exact same as when I was coming out of anesthesia for wisdom teeth removal. Crazy!

What’s that like? I’ve got wisdom teeth removal coming up and I’m kinda anxious about it despite myself
@Thecelestial1
@Thecelestial1 2 жыл бұрын
@@jerrys1 hey buddy! I was nervous too. I’m kinda arrogant so I thought the anesthetic wouldn’t work. Trust me, it works. Like scary works. They put me to sleep because I didn’t want the laughing gas. They hooked me up to the tubes and started the meds and told me to count down from ten. I made it to 8 and then jumped out of the chair because they brought me back. That was literally the same “return to consciousness” feeling I was talking about. Didn’t feel a thing, was pretty lucid despite the drugs, didn’t do anything stupid etc. Truly the recovery was the worst part. They gave me painkillers and I didn’t take the “drink with water” aspect seriously. The holes in my face hurt, but my butthole hurt worse from the constipation that I threw the pain meds away. Make sure you stock up on soup and pudding, jello etc as solid foods won’t be edible for a bit. Remember not to use a straw for a while if they tell you to do you don’t rip out the stitches. A water pick is nice to get the food out of the holes of your mouth, mine took about a year to fill in, crazy right? All In all a decent surgery, you should be fine. Better now than later! Try to do when you have a lot of time off like summer so you don’t waste a long weekend or spring break. Buy extra gauze for packing the wound and keep extras off that jaw ice pack thing. Good luck!

this may be a little hard to explain, but simply put it seems the way to either add pressure to a lock, or to escape a lock is to allow yourself to roll into the negative/unused space. that seems to open up many more options.

I've been choked out 2 times in a row... both in the technical training, not even on a roll.... It's a strange feeling, but also exciting and a pushing power nap. So it was at first, the first time... the 2nd time, few minutes later, crippled me for the entire training time. Took really long to get clear again and been able to walk again normally. I fcking love Jiu Jitsu 🤙
