Are you playing with house rules? Because a player can ONLY lay down his/her books and/or runs when going out (or in the turn when you have a last chance because a player already went out)

I think I've bought this game 4 times now. Every time I buy one, we play with someone new and they love it so much I give it to them. Something for your Klingon subtitles though.. double check the 'Going Out' rules: you shouldn't play any cards until you can go out, then on the last turn of the round, everyone else plays as many as they can.

You are right, rereading the rules it looks like you should hold all the cards in your hand until the end.

If you throw out your wildcard cause you briefly forget it’s wild.. can you pick it back up quickly ?

My opinion, which applies to most games, is that if you forget and make a bad play you've lost it. You don't have an innate right to get a bad play back. It comes down to the people you are playing with and if they will allow you to reverse it.

They came from my Marvel Champions game :)

Can a run of three and two pairs win a round? (7 cards)

You have to play runs (sequential order) and books (same value cards) in sets of 3, thus having a pair isn't sufficient to play the cards down. If you were on the seventh round and had in your hand a run of 3 and 4 of a kind you could win a round.
