This was super fascinating, although I am definitely going to need to watch it again, as there was a lot of information covered. I am not musically inclined, so some of the terminology went over my head. Nonetheless, this was fascinating. In all honesty, I didn’t realize all the technical aspects of drumming, including how the kits are laid out and how the various sizes of the cymbals and drums come into play. Also, didn’t realize you could have two pedals on a single bass drum (if I understood that correctly). The engineering behind these kits boggles my mind!

Thanks for hanging out and watching, and hopefully learning something new about drumming! I am so excited to get to do this show, and bring this kind of intimate view to the inner workings of modern touring set ups! There are no stupid questions here, we are all learning together. So, if you have questions, feel free to fire away, happy to try and answer! -Jarrad

Never heard someone say they picked the 22x20 size mainly cause they just like the look of the depth of a 22x20 bass drum. Not the diameter but the depth haha. Kinda weird. The toms I would understand but bass drum depth for looks? Most people say I love how it sounds or feels for a bass drum depth but how it looks to fill out the rack? That’s a first for me.

We've had a few drummers say they've picked gear based on look or aesthetic, which definitely seems counterintuitive, BUT we gotta admit, when you are going for big arena visual impact for a show like DP puts on, Charlie certainly knocked it out of the park with this kit!

Well, when you win the drummer lottery, you can kinda do whatever setup you want, despite the reasons..😊

How can you get your stuff to sit on a metal grate though? Seems like the feet would fall in those cracks and how do you keep the hardware solid and still?

It was one of the craziest places I've ever sat, tbh. The whole thing was shaking, but very solid! NO ROOM for error!
