Good video. I’ll plant marigolds next year. First time with zinnias this season, and they are a joy. I didn’t pinch them, so they sprawled, and fell to the ground. I’ll do marigolds next. Loving the hummingbirds, and butterflies. (Louisiana)

Beautiful! Can I ask why you have hoops on all of your rows? Thanks!
@gooseberrybridgefarm11 ай бұрын
we use the hoops to hold up the support netting that keeps the flowers from falling over in wind storms - and also use it to hold up frost cloth if needed early in the season

How well do the grass oaths work for you?
@gooseberrybridgefarm9 ай бұрын
They work well for us. We have to keep them mowed, but we've not had issues thus far. It depends on what you're trying to accomplish, and your traffic, of course, but we prefer them!

Do you have a treatment when the bugs get to your flowers?
@gooseberrybridgefarm11 ай бұрын
we use organic treatments only as needed - planting a diverse crop and not spraying for bugs helps encourage beneficial insects and balance things out - this past year (year 4) we didn't have to spray anything at all.

What are your hoops [arches] made out of?
@gooseberrybridgefarm9 ай бұрын
1/2 and 3/4 (we have both) 9 ft long pvc - 10 ft woeks we just wanted them a bit shorter - there is 18-24” pieces of rebar in the ground that hold up the hoops

And your netting. Assuming you use that to help stabilize the flowers so they don't blow over. I want to grow sunflowers and cut flowers, but we get some wind here. Wondering how much the netting helps. Do you buy that in a roll and from where?@@gooseberrybridgefarm
