I tried Another Crabs Treasure after your review….i LOVED it! I don’t play soles like games, they are too hard. But, the game had difficulty levels and even a way to get through the game in an unconventional way… you talked about it….so, I tried it…and I found myself laughing out loud, enjoying the play time and story and finding the end moving….I will remember this game for years to come… thanks for your sharing your thoughts because I had a great time!

RGG, the dev of Yakuza series, is absolutely amazing at what it does. I played all of Yakuza games apart from Infinite Wealth and despite them resuing assets every game (mini games return, or the maps are the same between games, like Kamurocho or Sotenbori), they do it so masterfully that I honestly find it amazing. I don't play all the mini games (especially not MAHJONG lol) but I always find at least one of the mini games that I bring completely through because I am into it (pocket racer, hostess clubs, baseball, golf, and even coliseum in Gaiden). Really looking forward to Pirate Yakuza with my favorite character of the series as a protagonist.

Haven't even watched it yet but stoked to see Space Marine on the cover. I'm creeping up on 200 hours in Rogue Trader. Taking a lot of time to do and see everything. But I feel that game would fit the list if I were making it. I already knew I had 40k bias. But I didn't expect to get near Baldurs Gate 3 levels of entertainment with Rogue Trader. I can't wait for more content honestly. I feel like they could implement a grind or periodic tiny updates. I know that's asking. A lot but still. It's too good. I'll admit, easily broken tho. Literally everyone can be a one turn solo wipe monster haha I'm glad you liked infinite wealth so much. Yakuza/Like a Dragon is my favorite series. I don't think the rest of the games are your speed. But they really are a lot of fun. Each one has several side activities with just as much detail as a full game just like Infinite wealth. Like the Hunting in 5, property management in 0, or Dragon Kart from 7. So many memories in those games. The Judgement Titles are essential in my opinion. They are a spinoff of Yakuza but take place in the same timeframe and cities as the Yakuza games. A few crossover appearances. And TBH, Lost Judgement might be my favorite of the entire series.

I really hope Pacific Drive gets a sequel, or at least inspires a few more games. It really felt like one of those formulas that's one, two literations away from all-time classic. If not outright a new sub-genre of car based survival games.

This video got me thinking, there really aren't enough comedy focused games! Comedy is one of the most popular genres of TV shows & movies, but few games are genuinely focused on being funny. You bring up the point that sometimes you play games just because you think they'll be funny, but I can't say I ever do that. Conker's Bad Fur Day is probably the only one I can remember. Other comedy games I've seen tend to be from indie companies, made for children or way more niche. Maybe I just need to branch out more 😅

Man you should definitely try Yakuza 7: Like a dragon and Yakuza 0. The first one is an rpg, the beginning of the story of Ichiban - the main protagonist of Infinite Wealth. The second is a prequel to the whole series and an action game where you switch between Kiryu - main protagonist through all of the games, but Y7 and the second being Majima, who will be the main character of of Pirate Yakuza next year and who is also a very important character throught the series. Both have amazing and engaging story and are extremelly fun.

Thanks Mortis, appreciate all your recommendations. I tried playing Yakuza 0 last year - put a lot of hours in. In the past few years, I've come to prefer games with the least amount of hud/info on the screen. In other words, not really into damage numbers on screen like Borderlands. Immersion blah blah blah...

I'm surprised Pacific Drive made this list. From your review, it seemed like the end of the game for you was more disappointment thatn the rest of the game exceeding your expectations overall. I'm always interested in your take on the rogue-like genre of games, since most don't have much of a narrative. Have you ever considered trying your hand at Dead Cells? I have such a love/hate relationship with that game, and would be curious to get your impressions from a 100% completion point of view. I've been at it for over a year and have scraped through to 4BC, but the game definitely has noticable difficulty spikes. I was just making the suggestion since the developer has finally wrapped that game up and moved on to Windblown. You're work ethic and personal story are very inspiring and it's that personalization that keeps me watching your content daily. Keep up the great work!

I don’t see anyone else pointing this out, but if you really enjoyed Infinite Wealth, I recommend playing the other Yakuza/Like A Dragon games. They have always had the weird and zany stuff in it that you specifically mentioned loving. And even better, the series will have call backs in later games referencing the fever dream like quests of previous games, just to make sure you know that it’s canon. I think you would get a kick out of playing them, even if you didn’t review them, and I especially don’t recommend trying to 100% them, cuz some things on the completion list are soul sucking time wasters. And I’m glad to know I was right for Pacific Drive and Another Crab’s Treasure on my wishlist.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard was way better than i expected. I just finished the story last night. Combat was fun and the companions were more interesting than the initial trailer showed. But best of all the Solas story had a satisfying conclusion, which is great as an DA Inquisition fan. Also Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth is a great choice. I'm a huge fan of the Yakuza series so i expected high quality from that game. Its still my current game of the year and looking forward to Like a Dragon: Pirate in Hawaii next year.

Enjoying story too allthough i do feel the general dialogue is not quite on the same level as the prior games. The banter tends to cut off too early which makes it feel a lil off. Played a very effective mortalitasi staff ray mage but this had the bad side effect of making the gameplay a little boring. After maxing veiljumpers and everyone else 2 star i felt the need to mix my run by starting a new run with a warrior.

You mentioned sometime ago that you would replay Final Fantasy 12 the zodiac age edition. I was just wondering if next time you have a break with no big releases could you maybe do a review of that? I kinda cheated on the game and obtained 3 Seitengrat Bows which boasts 224 Attack and 75 Evade, alongside a ridiculous 25% Critical Chance. The PS4 version of the game has RNG manipulation so you can get this weapon pretty easily. This is the weapon that you need to locate an invisible chest in the Skyferry’s Air Deck that only has a 1% chance of appearing in the game. And even then, the Seitengrat only has a 0.01% chance of appearing from the said chest. I got 3 in about 15 minutes with RNG manipulation.
