Was this train being pulled on a sharp grade? 33 cars seems like small potatoes to 5 gp38-2 locos. Just wondering

I mean, 2 gp38s is the equivalent of an sd40, but some horsepower and tractive effort are left over, so it's not a completely impossible thing
