Five Masculine FRAGRANCES that smell GREAT (on other people)!

Reviewing Halloween Man X, 9 PM, Club 75, Altamir, and Silver Scent Pure. Other reviewers have high praise for them...what's wrong with me?

I have 9PM and Halloween X. The 9PM is too “young” for me. I wear it from time to time, but no, not my thing. Halloween X is bizarre for me. I ended up buying three bottles when it was released after really liking the first run I had with it. Surprised about the coffee note, as I have seen that in Fragrantica reviews also (reformulation)? In any case I get a dark roasted boozy coffee note, it is pretty consistent in my wearing but the final dry down leans pretty woody sweet and yes I agree linear. I also agree that it is loud, and projects very strong. Again, not consistent on Fragrantica where people say it lacks longevity, again? Last, I find this another youthful kind of scent, not my favourite, but oddly one of my most complimented scents ever. I write under Great99 on Fragrantica. I get ya. Woody fragrances can be great, but they can also be tiresome. I've worn fragrances where the wood actually made me nauseated. I have a fragrance that has a cigar tobacco note that project nicely and sweetly but if I sniff it on my sleeve it turns my stomach cuz my brain doesn't like mixing sweet with woody tobacco. Weird how our senses act.

Thanks for the commiseration! You're right, is kind of weird how we can like a smell and find it viscerally revolting at the same time.
