Feather blades are Feather Blades. Black is five per tuck. Yellow is ten per tuck.

Thank you for clarifying! Perhaps my technique has improved since the last time I used them, hence the better results. I appreciate the feedback!

@@classicalgrooming You're welcome. Technique improvement can definitely make a difference, as can products used for lather and the razor geometry. Not every blade works well in every razor for every face. It's also worth noting that blade edges are not perfectly consistent from blade to blade or even batch to batch. As they are coming off of the production machinery samples are taken for quality control and adjustments are made to the machinery as edge quality drifts out of specification to maintain everything within specifications, "plus or minus" certain tolerances. Rough handling between manufacturer and end user can result in edge degradation as well, but Feather's packaging is pretty bulletproof. To see what I'm talking about, hold a wrapped blade up to a light. You'll see very even spacing around the edges and the ends of the blade. That space around the edges, plus the waxy adhesive is what protects the blade edge from rough handling. Most blade manufacturers use the same basic process but not all of them are as exacting as Feather is. I think part of it is because Feather puts down two drops that also glue the paper down in the center slot rather than the four dots near the corners of the blade that other manufacturers use and part of it is serious attention to detail rather than taking a "that's good enough" view of things. I actually do need to make a clarification. My above statement (Black 5, Yellow 10) refers to the Feather Hi-Stainless blades. The pillar packs are Red for the 5-blade tucks (100 total) and yellow for the 10-blade tucks (200 total). Feather also makes a carbon steel DE blade. I believe they are only in tucks of ten blades each. I've never seen them in packaging with English writing. Feather FA-10 AKA Seikan 10. Not to be confused with FAS-10, which is a single edged blade. They are available online from Japanese specialty and from scientific/lab supply websites also on etsy and eBay.

Stephan's is great stuff. I get it from my barber. How would you describe the scent? It smells really nice, but I have no idea how to describe it.

To me, it has kind of a coconut or tropical scent to it. I do like it! Thanks for participating in the channel!
