I loved it when Mom would make this. One of my favorite childhood dishes and memories.

My mom used to make me this when I was a kid. It was one of the few things she did for me growing up so despite it all, I will always hold this close to my heart ❤️

For some reason, creamed tuna popped into my head today to make for dinner. I am going to do what others suggest and add some frozen peas and mushrooms. The other thing that is really tugging at my heart is to serve it over creamy homemade mashed potatoes. Either that or some noodles. Nah, mashed potatoes! 😄

Reminds me of my childhood. My mom made chipped beef on toast often. Thanks for showing me how to make it.

Love this recipe - brings back lovely memories of childhood. I have to admit watching that metal whisk scraping against the non-stick pan was making me nervous. 😊

I was going to make a fancier tuna dish, but remembered I have farm fresh eggs and thought creamed tuna & peas & pickled green beans (I’m a weirdo lol) over a couple poached on toast would be heaven!!!!

I make mine the same way but I use a big can of tuna or THREE cans of drained tuna. (Do not use albacore because it's too dry). I toast the bread and then butter it well, then dump the tuna over the bread and quickly add a couple pats of butter on top while it's very warm so you see the butter start to pool. I ate it as a kid growing and both of my kids loved it too. Unfortunately my husband hates it. 🤷

Too thick. Like wallpaper paste. I would have thinned that out quite a bit. Also wouldn't have smashed the poor tuna flakes to smithereens so it's lost in the sauce. I also like to add minced fresh parsley, sliced mushrooms, and sometimes I add capers. Some folks also like green peas. Salt and pepper, perhaps some crushed thyme or a dash of dill as a garnish. This is kind of a mess.
