Scott is a genius, whether or not you like the game. He has been able to combine the terror to get people interested, but yet made the animatronics cute/scary enough for 12 year olds to spread it all over the internet. The game is fun enough the first few times for you to buy it (or peer pressure). The game gets old but yet the story behind the game lets people speculate and make the fanboys and fangirls want to buy FNAF 3 just to discover secrets with crappy theories. The thing is, Scott is making alot of money off of a great plot and some physiological gameplay, and what is making the games popular is youtubers like smosh, pewdiepie, matpat and others are making videos on it and then have the 12 year olds spread it over the internet with fanart. Scott made a great story, put some gameplay so he could sell it as a game and somehow got it to spread due to kids all over the internet. G. E. N. I. U. S.

My thoughts: Everything said in this video is completely true and is a valid opinion. That said, what I believe most people come back for is not the gameplay, but the challenge. Five Nights at Freddy's has an incredibly simplistic design. The game consists of many static images, a few animations, but complex AI. They all have patterns, but are more difficult to figure out in Five Night's 2, then 1. This game is more challenging than its predecessor, and people like having bragging rights. Even when they're no longer scared, people simply want to complete the challenge. They want to say "Yeah, I beat Golden Freddy mode (a custom night where every character is set to its maximum difficult) and I beat 4/20 mode in the first game, too". Additionally, a fair amount of people like these games for the lore. It's creepy, it's unsettling, and it's not terribly far-fetched. There is some interesting things happening behind the scenes, and people enjoy coming up with theories and headcanons, sharing them with others, and seeing what other people have to say. Now, the only reason I will not play Five Night's at Freddy's 1, 2, or 3 is because I feel that I would get frustrated at the difficulty and stop enjoying the game.

I feel bad for Scott. He got the idea for a game with animatronics from a previous game he made where people complained about them looking like animatronics. He went through a huge depression before getting the idea to make a game about it. He made the game as he went along. He made it by himself besides his two sons that tested for bugs and glitches and easter eggs. He often had nightmares about Bonnie and people are spectalating that "Golden Bonnie" is what his nightmares were like. It has many more theories because Scott likes to leave little bits of lore throughout the game. The lore is pretty extensive but nothing is for sure and many different people have different opinions on the lore. The fan made games have less lore but it seems like more because they shove it down your throat. *cough FiveNightsAtWario's cough* He made a great improvement from the first to the second. He made the first game in about 6 months while he released the second game very early. Making it in about 2 months. The third is debatable. A lot of fnaf fans don't like how it looks. A vast majority of the fnaf community hates how people sexualize the animatronics. In my opinion it's stupid because they are animatronics. BB is dubbed by the community "Fuckboy" or "Balloon Bitch" because he often gets you killed on the later nights. Although the jumpscares do get boring and seem like they are mocking you, there is no need to bash on Scott and the game. Most people won't read this, won't care, or both. Say my opinion is wrong, honestly I don't care. -Shard

It's amazing how many people are fighting over how great the graphics are, or how crappy the story is, yet I haven't read a single comment talking about game play. Is it impressive that Scott made a game so quickly and with such quality? Yes. Is it a valid argument, saying that if you want to dislike a game you have to make such a game yourself? No. That's like saying in order to give a movie a good rating you yourself have to make such a movie. It makes no sense. Personally, I like FNaF. Not for how "spooky" it is (seriously, you get over the jump scares pretty quickly) or how great it looks, or even for the lore, but for the GAME PLAY. That's what I enjoy about FNaF. It's a simple concept, yet fun. Seriously though. Someone could make a game with good graphics and few bugs in a short amount of time, but that doesn't make it an amazing game. If the game play sucks, the game sucks.

Five Nights at Freddy's is the most overrated game ever. It doesn't try to scare you, doesn't bother to build any atmosphere or even have fun gameplay. Horror games, good ones, that is, don't rely solely on jumpscares. They build atmosphere, have scary monsters. It may have a lot of lore but that does nothing to make the game fun to play. It's just its retarded preteen fanbase (most of whom have probably never played another horror game in their lives) that loves it so much. Also, for the record, a jump scare isn't a real scare. It just startles you. If Freddy were to slowly walk up to you with the sound effect rising in volume, you wouldn't feel all that scared, would you?

Simon Petrikov wow. Actually, I really wanted to enjoy the game. I heard so many good things about it. All the reviews i read were how addicting and fun it was. That's why i was super shocked. I did watch some videos online of people playing before i did but youtubers made it look fun.. probably just their overreacting and screaming. I knew the concept of it before hand, and yeah, maybe in the back of my head i thought, okay so you just check cameras? Like what else. But I honestly thought it would be different once i played it myself on my phone. Like I'm not the type to install a game just to try it, while believing it's not gonna be worth my time, like i had faith in it haha. I thought all the attention it got was gonna be worth it. And when i played the game and started to get bored of like checking cameras and not being able to get passed the 4th level I thought to myself maybe there's more, I just gotta get used to it, maybe it'll get better but idk it just didn't. Wasn't my thing. And I'm not sure why you think disliking the game is the "likable side." It's quite the opposite. A lot of people like it... at least that's how I see it. I kinda wanna see a Outlast and Five Night's kind of mix. You're confined to a small restaurant and have to avoid the animatronics. And this is just something I don't see very often: Silent deaths. Just have the animatronic grab you and kill you. Sometimes quiet natural sounds like foot steps and bones crunching is scarier than loud screaming or music.

I don't think you guys get why many people like the game, and not the gameplay. Mostly because of the story, which for people with different taste it can be really interesting. The game play in the second game was different and more challenging also. The creator of the game is an indie developer, so this is really well made. I don't think this will be more then a trilogy anyway. Also, Call of Duty is still a good game. If you choose if a game is bad based on how popular it is, you'll be playing nothing but the bottom of the barrel. Also, First Person Shooters are about as popular as Third Person, Point and Click, Adventure, ext. It's a genre.

Same with how they have Star Wars Galaxies emulated servers, before SOE fucked the game up and shut it down. FNAF 3 actually looks really scary and is way better animated, I'm more excited about this than FNAF 2. I know he took away doors and added a mask and a music box, that was kinda dull, we did get the "New" animatronics in the 2nd game so we had 2x as many problems, the FNAF 3 trailer looks fresh and new. (By the "New" animatronics I mean the "Old" ones in the game because FNAF 2 happened before FNAF 1, it's been proven)
