We have a freshman coming in who should be ready to compete

Let the hype begin! Raiola did nothing to squash it. Was as good as predicted. Made plays I haven’t seen from a Nebraska quarterback in a long time. Also thought Kaelin looked good. Still want to see him in 4 games and then shut down to preserve redshirt.Haarberg did some good things as well. Thought he played better than at any time last year. Receivers looked good as well. Can’t wait! Looking forward to more videos, Wilson!

Raiola played well, but not perfect… the interception was definitely his fault (threw behind an open receiver) and he also dropped a shotgun snap that hit him perfectly in the hands. I felt HH looked every bit as good as DR and come game time is likely harder to prep for given his running ability. Bottom line, until the QB’s play without the green jerseys on, we can’t truly know how they’ll perform under pressure or after getting hit hard a few times (anyone can look good in the pocket when there is no risk of actually getting hit). That said, I still see QB as a competition (down to two rather than three). I would ask however, to stop drinking the Koolaid and call it like it is… DR played extremely well (especially for a freshman) but not perfect, and the two mistakes he did make (mentioned above) are the kinds of thing that have lost us games in the past… and I don’t recall seeing HH make any mistakes on Saturday. Just my 2-cents; GBR! KDock

We are deep really deep at tight end. 81 guy making great catches hes like the 5th string or 4th string? Also running backs all of them looked good! Haarberg looked a lot better. I just didnt like how basically every snap we did was in shotgun.

The 1 absolute is that Dylan is about as good as any veteran QB at reading D. He throws guys open great anticipation throws and on time, he has a great pocket presence and played fast and made it look slow. No one was close to really getting a sack. He would be a great QB to block for. He is in the pocket exactly where the linemen know where to block around. Unlike Martinez who would be in shot gun and take an additional 3 to 5 step drop basically screwing the line over by giving the d end a straight shot at him.

Your point about Martinez in the pocket was exactly what I used to gripe about. His speed and agility kept him safe and allowed him to make plays, but he often didn't give his pocket time long enough to spot his receivers.
