This is a excellent review I can’t understand why there isn’t many views . I’m looking at an E61 525d msport auto 2008 LCI Sunday so will be very useful. Thx. If it doesn’t have sunroof water into the trunk shouldn’t be an issue ? I’ll check radio and footwells as water can come from under windscreen. The chap had automatic transmission done at 95k miles. Just the fluid but no filter or sleeve which isn’t professional done I guess. Anyway I have ISTA-D so will know if any error codes.

Yes sir! If the car doesn’t have a sunroof/panoramic sunroof it will eliminate 80% of the E61 issues. Like you said if the radio is not working properly most likely diversity antenna amplifier is bad (located under the spoiler). Good luck with your purchase and thank you for your positive comment!

You don't have to spend the $300-400 for that specific diversity antenna, you can use one from other models! I used one from an X5 and it's a perfect swap. Only cost 50 bucks!!!!

Definitely need more info. I THINK mine is bad. I need to be beside the car to unlock/lock. The rear top glass of the lift gate doesn't open. No idea if I have comfort access but I can't start the car unless key is in ignition. Rest of the car (except front wiper motors) are working as intended though

Thank you for doing this video. I own a 2006 530xi wagon and have had the sunroof leak into the battery compartment - a very expensive fix but it was covered by my car insurance do to the big storms we have had recently in CA. However, after the repair was completed not my tailgate glass will not unlock. Do you know how I could get it fixed? thank you

I'm considering buying a 2006 pre lci 525i. It has 112k miles on the clock. It has got a lot of parts the last years, like new water pump, oil filter housing gasket and valve cover gasket. I prefer manual cars, but this is auto. Do you know how long these auto transmissions typically last? I'm not used to auto, but didn't feel anything wrong when I took it for a test ride. The transmission is zf ga6hp19.

Surprisingly these transmissions are strong. Unless the vehicle was abused, the transmission can last a long time. I understand that driving with auto can be a bit dull but it all depends on a habit as you said.
