Completely disagree on the first gen viper. I don’t see “unsafe” and “poor build quality” as being that desirable. It’s the worst looking viper by far. The other vipers have what will ultimately be desirable. Looks, engine, transmission, rawness.

I don’t think the viper will ever be big money; yes the raw analogueness and design is very cool, but there’s too many made and the interior is full of crappy plasticky truck parts and build quality. I can’t recall a single collector with junk interior; stripped out and race car yes, or fully utilitarian (like original nsx or Supra) but can’t think of one as bad as viper. Retains value perhaps, but never big money Totally agree on the mc12 and superleggera. Not sure about Aston tho, same problem with McLarens. No badge , too many made too similar between variants and in Aston’s case lack of innovation. It took a long time for the db5 to be worth something, and the same v12 in every single car made in the span of twenty years made most Aston’s diluted. The 550 is pretty no brainer being the last front engine v12 with a stick (there’s only a dozen 599 6mt and even for those Ferrari didn’t even tune them properly yet) and is very usable…but it doesn’t really has a signature piece like the 300SL doors and interiors so I don’t think it will be as valuable… it’s just spiked up in recent years as pple ran out of cheap cars to buy and started speculating on the next ones with easy covid money..need a longer test of time to know …

Hi Kennan, nice selection there. I have to say however, as I did several times before, that the Vanquish, being probably the most beautiful of the lot with its external really gorgeous elegant lines and simple yet jawdropping curvy design, well, this car is truly disgraceful in terms of sharing parts. I think the brand at the time was owned by Ford and the big corporation did something terrible to cut costs and that was to put a shitload of ford spare parts in this vehicle, the lights, wipers, etc not to mention the terrible garmin gps screen which fortunately goes into the dashboard. Anyway, The MC 12 truly a legend and the Gallardo insane, probably the wise purchase would be the Maranello. Then really who cares, the thing is to share the video and to talk about these beautiful machines. Thanks a million again and much love, as always from west Spain ❤

The preLP Gallardo represents handmade Italian craftsmanship, which is famously unreliable and effectively bankrupted Lamborghini. With the LP they moved to German parts and production methods, and the platform and engine that would be rebodied as the famously reliable Huracan. If you're going to buy a superleggera, buy an LP570 Superleggera. As far as the 550 goes, the 575 is the same car except improved in every way and it can be had for less money with a manual conversion kit.

430 Scuderia was a much better car (as a driver's car) than the MK1 Gallardo Superleggera with the E gear. The manual variants will go up but the E gear one's won't go up as much as the Scud.

do shove off, the viper is a hydroplaning master and blows headgaskest and has a clutch and gas pedal like a bear trap, and its properly priced for what it is, its a 35 to 55 K kit car made with the worlds finest cheapest plastics, and a glovebox that wont stay closed, that doesnt even have props that open and close for the trunk you have to manually set it every time you want to put anything in it and the ferrari 550 is a mechanics nightmare, just ask Jay Emm how much he's spent maintaining his also the vanquish S, kind of has a perchant for catching fire like all british cars

OK so here is my 2 cents , 1.Viper- the reason why it's still in the 30s-40s , it may be a very striking car to look at and that 8liter v10 is very cool and it wouldn't be that difficult to own, their flaw is that they are very unusable no proper roof, terrible build quality and exhaust that WILL burn you ! so in the end it could be cool 3rd or 4th car and that's why the values stay low. 2.The Gallardo attempt for a strip down racer is not as impressive as the gt3's or the Scud also the type of buyer who is into that sort of experience (strip down special) would most likely to be looking anywhere but Lamborghini. I suspect prices will rise in some form but it's also true to any Gallardo and the superlaggera isn't that special 3. Vanquish- their reason for being relatively affordable is because they are just so many good alternatives to that experience and they all look amazing with better gearbox and even cheaper prices. db7 for that classic Gorgeous V12 vibe and manual box with 420 bhp for 35-40 k db9 for that amazing v12 vibe but more modern and better than the Vanquish but also just as pretty for around 40k or a vantage manual for that person who just want an Aston for cheap and relativity reliable. 4.the 550 is an amazing car I think that they will go up in value along side the 456GT and also the 575 will eventfully be more valuable than all them. but I can totally see how by end of this decade they will be around 300k.

The Vanquish has been marred for life because of all of that backlash from Clarkson and others over the years, the majority of which is unfair and as the cars matured updates came and it did get better. Plus as per my rant comment here somewhere you need to learn how to drive the Vanquish's ASM gearbox. It will get its moment in the limelight one day. Also keep note that while the DB9 is a great car there are many of them with only around 1500 non-S and 1000 or so S variants of the Vanquish globally. It's a really rare car now.

It's really time to stop this negative narrative on the gearbox the Vanquish has. Most people are just repeating what they have heard from Clarkson and others. The rest who may have driven it just don't know how to use the gearbox properly and either expect it to work like a modern dual clutch or AT. I have both a Vanquish and a Sportshift Vantage for years, yes reliability is always a potential concern as they are old cars now but once you get into the rhythm of how to shift gears it's fantastic. Does it have foibles, yes, can it be stupid at low speed and parking also yes but it doesn't matter. And don't for a moment let anyone con you into thinking the manual conversion of a Vanquish will make you money "or add to the car's value". One S sold recently at Bonhams in the UK after £50K of work done including the conversion to manual and it went for £72K, around the same as one with ASM unaltered. The gearbox is part of the car's character, it's exotic feeling and wonderful once you learn how to use it. Ok, rant over.
