Still some class, decorum and tradition left in the world. Thanks for showing us that, Kirby.

I always love the classic staged Kirby greetings ( "ah, Terry!" "Kirby!"). But this one was the best yet. I really the new camera angle with Kirby walking into frame for the greeting. Great stuff

First off... That navy db suit you wore at the beginning is stunning. The color. Texture. Finish. The way it drapes. Stunning. I'm so happy that you are continuing to work with Haste & Lachter. I would love to get a suit from them someday. Just lovely people who make lovely products. Thankfully they come to NYC so I may catch them when I'm ready. Thank you for continuing to showcase them! Your tuxedo is going to look fantastic!

I see Max and Mollie the apprentices in the background. I’m popping in this week to have a pair of their trousers adjusted; I’ve lost weight! Suyamba is completely excellent. I’m going to discuss having a pea coat made as well. All the staff really are first class; genuinely as funny and gently sarcastic in the shop as seen in these videos. Utterly charming.

Now this is quality content. I remember meeting Mr. Allison at a college get together. He aspired to get into investment banking and finance. However, he saw an opportunity of where KZbin had no good quality content that regarded the well dressed and all things fine. What started out as an experiment, turned out well for him! Great work Kirby! Glad to have had the opportunity to meet you before your real career took off.

It’s refreshing to see Terry’s open minded take on traditional vs. contemporary details like vents, lapel size, buttonholes, etc. where others might be more fussy or militant. Great video.

These videos bring great joy. The sheer craft and easy manner of these experts is very engaging. There is also a kind of sadness to it, also: will these crafts exist in the coming decades? I do hope so! Anything that can promote traditional methods must be of value. This channel certainly does more than most to promote such age-old traditions. Thank you as always, Kirby.

You had to do the double-breasted jacket too small, in the old days, so that the single-breasted waistcoat underneath could be seen, because the jacket was left unfastened? I had to run that line through several times.

The fact we regressed as a society from wearing suits from 19th century to 70's to only become a thing you see in higher up corporate sectors is a tragedy. We either get our crap together with sophistication or return to monkee.

there is a place and time to wear a suit, but day to day it doesn't make sense
@teekue18 күн бұрын
The suit as we know it has been worn by the lower class towards the end of the 19th century and was disregarded as being for peasants and inappropriate for a true gentleman. So times change. ;)

@teekue18 күн бұрын
@@wiktork I don't think you understood. The suit (lounge suit) as we know it is the smaller brother of the frock coat. And that replacement of the frock coat only happened in the beginning of the 20th century. Before that it was mostly sports clothing or country clothing. So very casual clothing. But you don't want people wearing frock coats, do you? So why the obsession with the lounge suit? Or the predecessor of the frock coat, the justacorps. You don't want people wearing that either, right?
