Hey Friends! In this video I share some of my thoughts around body image in recovery, and outline five practical things that can be done in the here and now to work on cultivating a more accepting relationship with your body and self. I apologise for the poor quality of this vide but I was out with Roka and had a spark of passion about this topic that I just really wanted to share with you. Sending love and strength your way and thank you again for your support of my sharing on this channel, it really does mean so much to me.
Please note: everyone's recovery journey is unique and it may be that the points I make in this video are not accessible and/or relevant to you so please, as always, take what helps and leave the rest.

Bad thought about body -> realize it's bad -> correct thought to a healthy one (over and over again) = no more bad thought :3

Thank you so much for the amazing work you do ❤ Your videos are my go-to when I'm struggling to take action in recovery and need a bit of extra motivation and support. You've helped me get through SO many difficult meals since I started my recovery journey almost two years ago. Since then, I've made significant process when it comes to food and eating (I am weight-restored, and have mostly stopped restricting!), but my relationship with my body - and with myself as a whole - is still deeply damaged, so this video really resonated with me. I also greatly appreciate that you always provide practical advice and emphasise the importance of taking action even when it feels really scary. It's something that's been (and continues to be) extremely helpful for me in my recovery. It's largely thanks to you that I'm no longer content to simply make observations and reflections about my disorder and the ways in which it manifests - now I'm actively looking for ways to put those reflections to use and challenge my ED, because I know that's the only way forward!

The question to ask yoirself when in doubt is "what does having this body mean for me?" My anwser, THIS body enables me to give blood for the 1st time yesturday, THIS body means I have energy to do the things I love, THIS body means I can be the mum, wife & friend I want to be! THIS body is more important than any smaller body can give me.
