A wonderful and a rare opportunity rendered by you to enjoy the visual treats which took many years of hard labour & constant efforts by you. I am in Coimbatore, India but joyfully enjoyed the trip to North Pole in 1225 never dreamt of in my life. Many heartfelt thanks to you sir.

Just imagine if the Pere Marquette on the mainline or possibly running near my mom is 😀😀😀 And imagine if the Pere Marquette goes all around the USA 🇺🇸 that way the 1225 could be more famous then all the other famous trains in the world 😃😀😀

Nice footage, even the earlier stuff is good! (I can't say that for myself).

Thanks a lot! I debated putting it all together since a lot can be seen in my MR series vids. Overall, I'm pleased with the outcome. I'd forgotten I had footage of the TSBY painted 393 :-D

I wish they'd let her go mainline again like she did in 1991, which if I'm not wrong was the last time she's been on a mainline excursion.. She deserves the same chances her sister 765 gets and her soon to be restored cousin 2716 will. Hopefully a 2-8-4 triple header soon to come..

Did you saw the North Pole train in 2019 and was it hard to get back home in 2013 after that blizzard
@toddfeldpausch94893 жыл бұрын
Yes, there was no snow when I saw it in 2019. The blizzard wasn’t as bad is it looked so the drive home was not bad. The year with the ice storms and state of emergency were significantly worse for driving.

In Britain we tend to trust our steamers to make it on their own, and not have a diesel in tow ... but it's not unknown for one to be towed out of trouble by a 47.
@toddfeldpausch94892 жыл бұрын
Some of the excursions on this video took place when the 1225 was still in the final stages of being rebuilt. Those trains have a diesel locomotive on both ends. The trains with a diesel on the opposite end as the steam locomotive are there to pull the train back after the excursion since it is a point to point operation and no place to turn the steam locomotive.

Very nice! Where were the silhouette shots taken (30:45)? I'm still trying to figure that out. I remember that ice storm!
@toddfeldpausch94895 жыл бұрын
The silhouette shots were taken at M57. I was east of the Xing and shot the train nearly broadside, across the field.
