My favorite of the submissions and I definitely will bookmark for hiring. I get what Stephen was after, a little dirtier and more driving on that particular track, but your tone and pocket is spot on for a wide variety of genres where the drums need to sit cleanly in the mix. Great job!

Saw you on Stephen Taylor's video, and as I said over there also you were the best one, great performance and great mixing, something noone else bothered to do at all in that video. Especially like how the toms sat in the mix, good tuning and choice of microphones. Great value of just 37usd for this recording :) Hopefully you get more customers

Thank you very much. Yeah, I find the reference mix is the clients first impression of the drums, so it has to be good. Because of Fiverr's low margins, you have to try minimise returns. Do things quickly but properly.

Loved it! What's interesting to me is its like your approach was the studio recording for the album release of the song while Britt B's approach was more like how the song would be played at gig on a Friday night - both are great, just aimed more at different scenarios/audiences.

Hi Ben, thank you! Yeah its the Armory, with coated pinstripes on the toms, coated ambassador on the snare and the original head on the kick. But its a Mapex Black Panther "The Blade" snare. 14x5.5 steel.

Stephen T (who's great) and Davie504, and Squidmire minis have all done these Fiver trick videos, they're great content, but I think I would be a little annoyed if I was hired to record a track then critiqued on huge youtube channels without my prior-knowledge.

I understand what you're saying. Fortunately the ones that I have seen have all been pretty positive about their comments and approach. If they where disingenuous with the order details and critique purely to create content, then thats a problem.

Glenn Welman The other issue is that they are hired to play a song and then critiqued because there are no drum solos in the breaks. However a good drummer would leave space for vocals etc. I suppose it’s all a bit of fun though

Thanks Tye, yeah Fiverr started out for me as a hobby but has grown to far more than I ever expected. Also my service has improved a lot over the years as Ive gained experience in recording and mixing drums, so I do need to find a better balance between value and staying competitive.

Your gig didn’t make the cut though. The girl that got the gig was awesome. Your session was/is great,(as well as use of electronic drums), but her ‘energy’ and refinement was the killer factor in this shoot-out. Nice session though 👍🏼
