She is sweet , but gets attached to one person ( if that the only person in the house) . Like a kid giving you attitude, she knows when she wrong . I worked with her for a few years and got her down to 30 min of loud time in a total day . This video is spot on... However one thing, do not cuddle them ( this always leads to bad relationship, and bitting to others) . They love there sleep like a child ( and hate there sleep cut short). Can learn whole sentences . Cute . Smart , learns tricks , loves banana ... Awesome pet in baby years, has its terrible teens 3 years in

As a previous cockatoo owner, I agree with EVERYTHING you said! It was like transporting back in time and living with my bird again. Well done. I hope people really pay attention to what you said … it’s really soooo important to find the RIGHT bird. 😁

I have had birds for 25 years. I had one cockatiel for 20 years, then another for 3 (died of a random seizure) 3 budgies (years so far) and an Indian ring neck (1 year so far but she is 4 years old). Birds absolutely know how you feel about certain things and they do troll you and test your patience purely for their own entertainment. They can outsmart you. I never have had an aggressive bird. All of mine have been friendly but a bored bird is a destructive bird and a loud bird. If you can't handle a cockateil you have no chance at a cockatoo. Indian ringnecks are 5x more of a handful then a cockatiel and if you can't handle a ring neck you have no chance at a cockatoo. Birds a fraction of the intelligence of a cockatoo can still know exactly how to troll you. You think training will be easy, the moment you teach them you don't want something they now know exactly how to mess with you. They might mess with you just to get more treats. Its easy for a bird to take whatever lesson you teach them however they want. It's like a freind who just reads meaning and misinterpretation in your words for their own entertainment. This isn't them being malicious they just need the stimulation. It is nolever a good idea to try to punish the behavior. They are just being Birds. It is like having toddlers. You will never have complete control and they are not obedient animals as a default. You can train them but it's nothing like most dogs. If there is an analogous dog, it might be a border collie. They have their own instinct and choose when they listen. If you dispositionally need control never get a bird. If you need order never get a bird.

You should definitely review the Hahns (mini) Macaw! They are incredibly underrated buy also hard to get because they don't usually breed well in captivity. But my mom has 2 and they have had MANY babies. She's sitting on the second clutch of the year! My mom spoils them so much that they feel comfortable enough to keep having babies. They are basically all the fun of a macaw at the size of a conure. Can be super cuddly, even better talkers, so much fun. The father is even such a big talker that one of their babies learned to laugh with him at only a month old. They both talk to each other in "bird" and English, lol. Say "I love you" and give kisses to each other constantly, it's so cute.

I have 22 parrots of different species and size . I cannot interact too long with my other parrots before Icky ( Icarus) gets jealous and starts whining and whimpering like a puppy. Everytime I make a big fuss over my cocky, my Congo African Grey wants my attention by saying " I love you Howard". Its like clockwork. As soon as he hears me paying attention to Icky, he always says he loved me. I have thee best of 2 parrot worlds. 2 extremely intelligent parrots.

Everything that he said about the Triton is spot on, although I was told they can live for up to 100 years. You need to know what you are getting into before committing. We have had one as part of our family for 30 years. Frankly, as we get older and Sam gets louder, we need to find him a new home. We have not done this because I know people get tired of them, and I do not want him to go from home to home for the rest of his life. He just deserves better than what we can offer. If anyone knows of a great place to allow him to live out his years please let me know. I want a great life for him, no other family member wants him, they love the shows he puts on until the screaming begins.
