@@enice617 In short it is good. Take less power to me loud. Which means you can run at 4ohm or 2 ohm and not make things run hot at 1.

I've had Cerwin Vega's version of this sub since 2019 (model VPAS12-ST) and in my 2018 Rio hatchback it sounded amazing. I traded that car in for a '22 Soul, and the sub isnt quite doing enough for me anymore in the larger vehicle. Just picked up 2 of the Skar EVL6.5 loaded ported enclosures for under the front seats, like you guys mentioned @10:00

I bet that's a great idea for people who lease a vehicle. Seems pretty decent for what it is. Like you said, it definitely isn't a custom build type wowing. JBL has always done some good stuff to me.

Thanks for doing this video. I know the "company" you are referring to, and I have the Cerwin Vega VPAS12st in my '05 Acura RSX Type-S. Sounds phenomenal for what it is. A vendor that I talked to had the JBL BassHubPro and the Cerwin Vega for sale. He said that both sound good, but that he recommended the JBL. Of course it's more expensive than the Cerwin Vega.

I don’t . I have an android radio so it has sub pre outs and a remote but you can still use it on a stock radio all you have to do is just tap into one of the rear speakers just for the signal and your golden and you can use the supplied remote to turn your bass up or down trust me your going to love it.

So the slight difference in dB measured between mounting with/without the spare is likely due to some cancellation effect from the spare acting as a baffle at certain frequencies. Mounting without the spare provides a more uniform cavity and not a doubling cavity. You also load the driver more by placing it closer to the floor directly which can add some efficiency as well.

I have a '99 Suburban with the spare standing vertical in the back with the carpet cover on it. I'm going to explore if somthing like that would fit in there. Would be pretty sweet for not taking up space.

This looks like a perfect solution. I need more punch to help the little 6x4s in the classic car but don’t want to ruin the look of the car with a big box. This should hopefully fit inside the oem 14” spare tire in the trunk 😁

I just bought and had the Cerwin Vega unit installed in my VW Sportwagen. They literally look like the EXACT SAME PRODUCT!!! Same enclosure with some slight cosmetic differences. Exact same wired control. Yet a price difference of $100. ???

Think I'm getting this for my 2016 mini Cooper clubman 😁 I never had a spare tire in there. So should be good. It's a hatchback too🙌🙌 thank you so much for your expert opinion. It won't cause extreme rattling though right? Like in a hooptie? That's not my favorite sound.

This is nice...the actual speaker is an 11 incher , per my research. I have an 18 Nissan 370Z Nismo and the Bose system sucks, the base module is there but you wouldn't know it...every now and then I hear a note or 2 of bass. I like a tighter bass note personally...I'm very interested. I still want you guys to do full install on my 17 Civic EX-T , I sent you and email with details , Hertz Legends are involved, I can resend if you missed.

That might be a good idea for my 02 Mustang GT. The head unit has RCA low level jacks for a subwoofer. So I'll have to run a power wire and a RCA cable.

Guys I enjoy your videos. Can you do a comparison of the "spare tire subs" from jbl, cerwin, rockville, bose, pioneer? You're reaction to the jbl seems highest, but when you are comparing things on the same day your decision may be different. In between time, I might just stop in your shop and chop it up with you.

I had that in mind as well it probably would be a better fit if you flip the Tire over and then it would be a better fit and hopefully you will be able to close the cover back over it .

What would flipping the tire accomplish? The back side is always facing up. Which is the empty side. Where your brakes would fit. The front side is flat with the tire. The subwoofer would be even higher into your car.

I just installed a Rockville spare tire sub in a 2016 rav4, OMG, it blew me away, like the guy says, it’s compact and has the amp built in, very impressive. I want to add one to my Lexus RX 350, I have the Mark levinson package, but I like me a little extra bass. 😎👌🏼

I have a 2021 Toyota RAV4, and I have 2 sets of JBL STADIUM 62CF components installed, plus a KICKER 10" bass, all connected to a KENWOOD Model KAC-M8005 amplifier. I want to install the new JBL BassPro Hub and change the amp to make the components louder. It is recommended to change the Kicker subwoofer for the new JBL BassPro Hub, or whichever is better. The TB enclosure is amazing. Sold one that was installed in a jeep, and it plays clean and loud. im sure the QB8 is awesome too, haven't had a chance to hear that one yet

Have you all reviewed any of the other spare tire subs? That JBL is on sale at Walmart for $365 but even at that price it's still the most expensive. The CERWIN Vega 600 watts is $340, 1 inch bigger at 12 inches, and at the same 600 watts. I expect both of these to sound very similar but what about the Rockville 11 inch at 800 watts (200W RMS)? It's only $200 and looks to have a very similar wiring harness and controller.

10 awg. It's 4-16 awg cables to form the 10 awg. Same for the ground.

Rockville are industry scam artists. They make cheap mediocre crap, look straight into the camera with an "O Face" and act like it's the first time they ever heard it and it sounds so good they can't believe their own ears! They make false power and db claims. Total garbage. Only people who don't know any better think their stuff is good. JBL makes real products and doesn't exaggerate.

All the JBL products I have so far do exactly what they say they do. My PartyBox 100 has 2 5.25" drivers that F3 at 35hz! Not only that, they play CLEAN and play LOUD taking over 200W no problem! Not sure what alien magic they use but it's amazing. Their flip6 portable bluetooth speaker smaller than a water bottle F3's at 60hz and puts out some db! I could hear it pull up in my kids school bus! LOL It's mind blowing. I have one of these on order for similar reasons as you. Based on their other eye opening products, I'm going to trust this sub will perform as well. I've got a Polk 10" in there now but want my trunk space back. I can post back if you want...
