Electric Mountain Bike Network you didn’t mention one thing when inflating with co2 the tires that contain tubless sealant inside of them the sealant inside will be ruined cause they don’t mach so use just a regular mini pump

to repair large holes (holes) use a car CORD patches (such are sold on automobile wounds or atomic service workshops, well, or on the Internet you can buy;)

You said before each ride to check your sealant in tubeless setup. How do you do that? Are you suggesting taking the tyre off every time? don't you need to have a specialist pump to reseat the tyre?

Check for thorns in the tyre before putting the inner tube in.
@OKFrax-ys2op4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely
@stuartmoseley5 жыл бұрын
Great advise again but missed one big issue you if you revert to inserting a tube! You “MUST” check the rest of the tyre for thorns etc otherwise you could end with a tube that has multiple punctures as soon as you inflate it! #madethatmistake #skoolboyerror
@markbennett56155 жыл бұрын
Really useful advice but if you have to put an inner-tube in a previously tubeless tyre don't forget to check the inside of whole tyre for embedded thorns, glass or nails or you'll just end up puncturing your new tube

When your putting the tyre on make sure the bead is in the center of the rim. Makes it loads easier to put the tyre back on.

Great vid. My top tip: Be careful when using the reamer (is that how you spell reamer?) so as not to damage the rim tape. Go in at 45 degrees to avoid hitting the rim.

Actually had another thought, you mentioned that the sealant will need renewing every 2 - 3 months, should I be cleaning out the old sealant at some point? I saw that Muc-Off has a new sealant remover out, but are the common sealant removers available that will also do the job or is it a case of rubbing and scrubbing the old sealant off?

When I repair my motorcycle tyres I put a generous amount of rubber solution on the plug before inserting it. I cant see that pouring it on the the repair area afterwards will be of much use. Some great tips here though, Thanks!

Because the weight is not a concerns like in regular bikes, what do you think of thTannus Armour inserts? I know is not a repair, but I think should save must if not all repair needs

If you get the tire boot in there, can you use tubeless sealant? What about using patches on the inside of the tire on small holes?

I got my first flat on my Haibike last night. Breaking the seal on my tubeless tire,to put tube in,was a job for Hercules. I had to stand on the tyre and pull the wheel off the tyre. Is there an easier way?

great video - quick question re- the CO2 inflator, is it true that the CO2 will leak out through the tyre overnight, so you'll need to top up with a track pump the next day?

How do you deal with an insert? Maybe use Gup !
@embn5 жыл бұрын
Hey, if you are using an insert and get a larger hole you can plug it just as Chris did in this video. If you are running an insert because you are riding rough terrain we would also suggest using a downhill specific sealant or you can add ground pepper to your sealant for a great DIY hack! Henry over on GMBN Tech made a great in-depth video on this 👉 gmbn.tech/HenrysTubelessHacks .

@@embn What's a downhill specific sealant? Or do you mean race sealant?

Gorilla tape + inner tube + tyre levers + co2 pump combo. And co2 go for non threaded type if you want to save a few quid. I go with tape over anything else as it has 101 other uses.

Use nitrous oxide for those who want to save some weight... And have a giggle
@tomwebber99365 жыл бұрын
I have used nitrogen (not nitrous oxide lol) in sus forks before and it has benifits, its pressure varies less with temp changes, it is less reactive to the materials used like alloy, rubber in fact pretty much anything bikes are built from, and yeah I guess it is a little bit lighter. The Nissan GTR uses Nitrogen filled tyres for heat stability and it is widely used in aircraft.

Forget all this nonsense and just pony up the cash and have Tannus Armour Tire Liners installed in your tires. Tubed or Tubeless makes no difference, there is simply nothing in the market that does the job as good as these protectors. And the best part, should that very rare instance happen and you do get a puncture you still ride home without damaging your rims. Why bother with carrying your entire repair getup if you have Tannus Armour?
