FIX- Canon B200 error still after cleaning printer head- This fixed it!!

I'm not a KZbinr but wanted to make this video to help others before buying new printer. I still don't know why this fix it but it did. Hope it helps someone. God Bless!

Thanks very much. Followed this method. Powered up when the carriage was in the parked position but with all covers open. As soon as the carriage moved I shut everything and the printer reset correctly. Thanks again.

Mine was in the "parked" position, so I moved it to the center, then plugged it in, closed it up and presto, it's working.

Thank you!!! Owned my Canon MX922 for at least 3 or more years then suddenly got the dreaded B200 error message. Referred to the owner's manual which was useless! Watched several videos verifying the B200 message was nothing more than a clogged printhead. Removed the ink cartridges and the printhead and thoroughly rinsed the printhead. Let it dry. Thanks to YOUR video I only rinsed the printhead once then aligned it as you indicated before turning on the power. Works great! (3/14/2021)

yesss! just fixed my b200 error. I tried it 5 times, no luck.. then the last time, i was about to order a new print head and looking for the correct part number, I moved the cart to the left, but just before it slides into the printer. Plugged in the power, switched it on, closed everything during start up... and it's working just fine!! Just printed my nozzle test page and looks perfect. I gotta say , you hacked the secret CANON company machine code , trying to leave printer useres helpless after they properly clean the print head. Wow I haven't look at this video in forever. I'm not a KZbin guy I just made it because it fixed it for me and wanted to help other and it looks like it has for many. Sorry for you that have given this video a thumbs down if it didn't work for you. One thing is you have to have everything open, the print head moved out of the parked (not all the way to the right), power it on and close it all up fast and you may have to do it a few times to get the timing down.

Thanks! this solution worked for me too. Its all about fooling Canon's software. I too hate to pay for the crazy cost of original print ink. Very happy with EZink products. I have a 30 year old HP color Plotter and have issues keeping it going including having to use an old Dell Windows XP computer to drive it! But the plotter works fine.

Well, after it seems the error code had disappeared, I tried doing a print pattern and everything went dark! Shut down. Would not power back on until I unplugged the I unit and powered back up and back came the B200 error. Oh well. Will try a few more times. But looks like this printer is heading off to the electronic recycling program :)

solution original cartriges....i inform everyone with this kind of problems, that canon is being abosive trying to sell his printer ink with the following method ..., because i already had two high resolution printers of the same brand a mark ii that gave head problem because I used cheap ink cartridges when I wanted to use them just for copying so I stupidly bought a pro 10-sa to think that I would never have any problems but I was wrong, I need these companies for photography exhibitions of which I use the originals but how the ink is it is very expensive for more basic things I change the ink cartridges, only that both had false problems in the print head. whenever I used non-figdinios ink cartridges from the beginning it diminished the quality of purpose after it gave the print head a problem with some use or injected a few more colors, so I decided to do some tests I changed for all the figdine ink cartridges and she magically stopped giving problems, then not happy i decided on 2 or 3 white ink cartridges and it worked well on the table. again I added more altered cartridges and it was a problem after a few prints. So I decided to understand what was going on and trick the system to see if it was really ink or canon to sell your ink cartridges created a purposeful problem. and voila I drained all the original ink from the fiddinios ink cartridges and injected the ink of another brand for testing, so I printed many things and it was no problem, that is, the problem is not the ink but the canon, they do something to give problems on purpose. ... it was my conclusion I spent a lot of stress with this problem I think I am not obliged to always have to use the brand's ink ....

Thank you for the tip in your video! I had problems with the printhead on my MG7120 a few years ago, cleaned it, and got it working again. When an error came up last week saying I had the wrong printhead, I skipped the cleaning and ordered a third-party printhead off Amazon. Once I swapped out the old one with the new, I was surprised to get the B200 error because I knew the new one was clean. Lucky for me, I found your video, followed the tip at the end, and it worked!

Yeah I did all this and yes it started fine without the error but once you try to print something the error shows up again, so just because it started fine doesn't mean it's working.

Hi Red Royce. I have the MX922 printer as well. My printer gives a message that the 'Cover is open' so it won't start processing until I close the cover so I can't get this to work. Did you have that issue and if so, how did you get around it? Thanks for any help. Stay healthy.

I tried it like 5x... the print head part never moved before it asked me to close all the covers at which point it would move and I'd get the error message. I also tried moving it manually before turning it on. :'( Oh well, I had it for many years and paid like $70 for it. RIP Canon!

I had watched another video from 303 Electronics quickly going through the process, but I do appreciate your breakdown of the steps you went through, and that the KEY was having the print head out during power-on. It may have been shaky, but this was a good breakdown. I just finished running a nozzle print test after removing and putting my ink cartridges back in (didn't even replace them), and all seems good now!

Has this been answered? I’m too tired after days and days of print head flushing & KZbin searching to read all the comments 😮‍💨 😅 Anyway, it sounds like a software memory issue to me. In other words, the error **message** is loaded into memory. So after cleaning the print heads, & fixing the actual problem, rebooting the printer in its discombobulated state clears the message from memory and you’re back in business. I haven’t put my cartridges back in yet but my theory is holding because this trick seems to have worked. I’ll update later when the cartridges are back in. (Canon Pixma MG 7120.)

How long did you find this method worked for? I tried it and you WERE right, it does get the printer working again. There is NO problem with the head/ink. But I had four print jobs lined up and the B200 reappeared during the third job! I suppose it is possible to go through the rigmarole of continually interrupting the cycle to get the B200 to go away but I wonder at what stage does the B200 start to come back even quicker than this? UPDATE: CANON USA NOW TELL ME THAT B200 on a Pixma mx922 MEANS GO OUT AND BUY ANOTHER PRINTER. Or more properly, it means can we sell you another printer. This is now the third time I have had this problem. With the 822, another 922 which someone gave me when it exasperated them enough and now with this one! I had found a few ways of getting around the B200. Unplugging and then printing a test page from the printer or a head alignment CAN do it. But none of them frustrate Canon's methodology for getting you to buy another printer. From them. Unless you had a Pixma MX822 in the past and were taken in by their error message on that printer, which tells you to go out and buy a new print head, which costs about the used value of the whole printer. Before you discover that what the error means is YOUR PRINTER HAS DIED (but we managed to make some more money out of you before you chuck it away)! Then, suddenly the promise of a discount on an unreliable product doesn't sound so attractive.

FYI my error didn't fix after the shallow water soaking and drying. BUT then it worked a 2 weeks later when I tried it in the printer one last time! So be patient and know you may need to leave it dry for a week or 2. Yep yep

Also a B200 error on my MG7150... cleaned the head several times and followed your instructions and it works for a moment. Followed by cleaning or deep cleaning and when I tried to print the nozzle patern the printer jumpes directly to the B200 error. Also unpowered for a night and started over again accoring to your instructions and same cleaning and printing the nozzle. Again B200... Bougth later on a used MG7150 whith origininal cartridges and seller told me he always used original cartridges. Cartridges were almost empty and replaced them with my cheaper cartridges (which worked for years without problems). A week later on this "new"MG7150 a B200 error. Again same procedure and it worked till the first print, again a B200. Tried your procedure several times and still B200 comming up at the first print. And now desperate... and bought a new Epson Expression Photo XP-970 after 25 years of Canon-printers, sometimes with problems but most of the time working perfect. I think Canon has updated the printer software and therfore it's cousing a B200 error when using cheap cartridges.

@@quattrocchi71 You will need to make sure the print head is not in the starting position. I unplugged the printer and manually moved it far to the left. I then powered it on with the lid open; I believe that is the key. Once it starts cycling, close the lid and that did it for me. Good luck to you!

Only one other was really helpful in that it showed all the steps on exactly how to get the print head out, etc. But once I had seen how to get the print head out and all the other steps (including buying and installing brand new ink cartridges although the old ones still seemed fine), I was still getting the error. The 'fix' was the trick that you showed as far as powering up the printer with the various parts still open, then quickly closing them during the power-up-and it worked! My next step was to buy a new print head (which I don't really want to do) because I need a printer like the Pixma 922 to print on CDs and DVDs (a feature you just don't find anymore, sadly in printers). THANK YOU AGAIN! -Gary

OMG, You have no idea how much of a True life saver. I Talked my aunt into buying a cheap ink and she doesn't use her printer that much. She is a person who plays the Blame game on everybody Even if it's 10 years down-the-line you may have touched her printer one time in your whole life and its your fault. REPARATION REUSSIE pour ma part de cette manière pour une MG6350. J'ai démonté les cartouches, j'ai ensuite retirer les tetes d'impressions. J'ai laissé couleur de l'eau bouillante du robinet pendant au moins 15 minutes. En dirigeant le jet puissant du robinet sur chaque ligne de la tete d'impression. Cela faisait sortir progressivement de l'encre de l'autre côté. j'ai en quelque sorte passé le jet sur l'intégralité de chaque ligne de la tete d'impression. Et ce longuement jusqu'à ce que l'eau sorte parfaitement claire. J'ai remis la tete d'impression. J'ai ensuite éteint la machine. Pendant qu'elle s’éteignait, j'ai retirer le cable éléctrique. Je l'ai ensuite remis en inversant la polarité. J'ai ouvert le capot, j'ai allumé la machine et dès qu'elle s'allume, j'ai inséré une carte SD, en meme temps que je ferme le capot. J'ai ensuite attendu 30 à 40 minutes. Et magie, le code B200 a disparu. j'ai pu réimprimer correctement de mon ordinateur, par wifi et par carte SD :) voilà, si ca peut servir à d'autres !
